HERALBERT GALVEZ |
Hermann Alberto Galvez is a Colombian artist, strongly influenced by the contemporary Bogota's sculptors. born December 11th 1960 in Bogota; Hermann appears to have gravitated towards sculpting from his earliest years. He began to draw instinctively at the age of five. At the age of twelve his talent became apparent when he modeled in clay, the figure of a bird. Hermann received encouragement from his parents. He begun classes of art with a local pinter, mostly draw and color techniques for couple years. Hermann has traveled and lived throughout the world. Lived in Australia, Europe and South and North America. He grew up in an enviroment which was an unconscious influence on him; spending time on a very particular Bogota suburb where painters, artisan,sculptors,craftsmen's lived around of the "MUSEO DE ARTE MODERNO THE BOGOTA " . He opens the workshoop in 1987 working together with an artist that just arrived from New York finishing a degree in arts Ricardo Monrroy, giving to Hermann strong bases for his work. |
