Chris's Haikus
Chris. What is the purpose of this page?

Chris. The art of haiku? WTF? What is haiku?

Chris. What a great definition of a haiku. Now I know!

Wait... are these haikus going to be in Japanese?

Chris. How often will you write a haiku?

Chris. I speak Japanese and must point out a correction to you in one of your haiku's.

Chris. Your haiku was so awesome. How can I tell you?

Chris. I must give honest, thoughtful criticism to one of your haiku's.

Chris. Your haiku sucked so much and you suck, sucker!

Merely a tool and a journal for me to practice the art of haiku, in general, and, more importantly, my skills with the Japanese language. And also to share the joys of haiku with people like you.

Haiku is a very short poetic form, consisting of three lines 5, 7, and 5 syllables each, and must have a special word which evokes the season.

And knowing is half the battle. Keep in mind, though, that this is just a basic definition I put. But I actually plucked, and by plucked I mean stole, this definition from this website.

Introduction to Haiku

Give it a looksie if you wish to know more detailed information about the haiku form itself.

Yes. But fear not. I also plan on putting translations down because I plan on using words I have never used before in Japanese. So I need to know what the hell I'm talking about, as well.

Note though, the meter for the translations will NOT follow the meter of a haiku according to the rules.

The plan is once a day, at least, and maybe more if the mood is right and Saturn aligns with the moon in the 7th house just so.

I welcome corrections and must insist that you, please, inform me of them in my guestbook or e-mail. It's the only way I will learn.  Present your own haikus in there, as well.   ^_^

Thank you. Put your praise in the guestbook. Feel free to write your own haiku in there.   ^_^

Sure. I accept all feedback, good or bad, as long as there is thought put behind it. Please put it in the guestbook. And write a haiku while you're at it.  ^_^

Tell it to the guest book and while you are at it, write one yourself, Mr/s. Haiku P. Expert.
