Doug's Suggested Reading

Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft

Author: Raymond Buckland. This book contains some essentials for practicing a more or less Gardnerian Wicca. Written in a text book like format with tests at the end of each chapter, this book covers rituals, magic, mythology, divination and more. A good how-to guide, and not a bad starting point.

Drawing Down The Moon

Author: Margot Adler. One of the most comprehensive reviews on the theory and practice of pagism available. She reviews the major theories concerning the evolution and practice of various pagan religions. Very well referenced.

To Ride A Silver Broomstick

Author: Silver Raven Wolf. In spite of its cover which features a witch flying amongst the clouds on her broom stick, it is an excellent book. It covers most aspects of Wicca in an easy to understand format.

Wicca: A Guide For the Solitary Practitioner

Author: Scott Cunningham. A very practical book much like Buckland's. It has how-to sections and ideologies, and includes a book of shadows to provide the reader with examples.
