On July 22, 2000, Josephat Helkite arose from the rubble of the once majestic city of Cabilis. The first few months of his existance, Josephat traveled the areas known as the Field of Bone and Kurn's Tower, in an attempt to eliminate the evil of his city's land.

One day, Josephat was involved in some contraversy. He LD'd while looking at someone's enchanted rings they had for sale. Josephat was accused of LD'ing on purpose, causing the items to go to his inventory. In fact, the items in the trade had poofed. After speaking with the other iksar for some time, they became good friends. Their friendship grew to the point that Josephat was invited to his first guild, Renmant.

Some of you may know their current guild, which is spelled Remnants. The difference was the 's' on the end. As a member of Remnant, Josephat began composing their first guild roster, earning him a promotion to officer.

Not to long afterwards, in December of 2000, the leader of Remnant disband the guild for personal reasons. Remnant was no more, but those that loved the guild banded together and reformed under the name of Remnants.

After a few months in the newly formed guild, Josephat decided to leave and join his shaman friend Sciek in the Ring of Loyalty. He was made quite welcome in RoL, and made friends with everyone quickly. Over the next year or so, Josephat Helkite was promoted to officer once again. He began a calender of events for his guild's website and organized various raids and events for the guild.

The end of the Ring of Loyalty lurked around the corner, however. Their leader was going through real life problems. Those qualified to take over, declined. Many of the guild members moved on to bigger guilds. Some just moved to other family-oriented guilds. Josephat was torn, become guild leader of a dieing guild or move on himself. He declined the position, but decided to stay until the end. A new guild leader was appointed. However, after only a month or two, the new leader left to pursue other interests. With no guild leader, the Ring of Loyalty was officially terminated.

Josephat was lost. He was not high enough level to join many his friends in their guilds. Few places needed a shaman, and those that did wanted one of level 60 or higher. Josephat was only 54 after two and half years of playing EverQuest. Then one day he saw his friend Truseeker online. She was an old friend from the Ring of Loyalty that Josephat knew she since was level 1 on the Tribunal. Truseeker talked Josephat into joining a raid with her current guild in Nadox.

The Circle of Lemmings, a guild Josephat had seen most of his EQ career, invited Josephat to join their ranks after only a single meeting. However, he declined to keep his options open. After another raid with CoL, though, Josephat happily accepted the invitation.

While with CoL, Josephat finished his leveling to 65 as well as gained some valuable alternate advancement abilities. Unfortunately, once again fate would play its hand. CoL began to crumble as more and more members left its ranks. Josephat stayed behind in hopes to help the few remaining officers and members revive the once prosperous guild, however all efforts were futile. So on February 11, 2004, Josephat removed himself from the Circle of Lemmings.

Josephat eventually ended up joining many of his CoL friends in Bhur Gcairde. Due to a mass influx of membership, BG has grown to the point where they can be a quite powerful guild. His current main goal, Josephat is saving AA's for Spell Casting Reinforcement Mastery. His current real life schedule prevents him from logging in as much as he would really like, and when combined with doing various in game events when he is around, gaining enough AA's for SCRM is a great enough task in its self. Of course, his overall objective has remained the same over the years... Have fun!

Josephat Helkite's story draws to an end, however. He has seen the expansion of Norrath many times over the years, from the artic Velious to the Gates of Discord. Four years is a long run, and with three supporting (alt) accounts by his side Josephat may be camping for the last time in the very near future.

So until our paths may cross again, I leave you with the words that I have spread across Norrath since day one...

May Fortune Smile Upon Thee.
