| Cowboys 2 points out of promotion position after big win in Montreal. The Calgary Cowboys slipped past the Montreal Phantoms tonight, escaping with a 2-1 victory. The went along quickly, as referee Seymour Clearly let the players play. The 'Boys never trailed as Alvin Smythe potted his 7th of the year from Matt Henrikson with 21 seconds left in the first, in which the 'Boys led on shots 12-6. The Phantoms failed on their first Power Play as Shane Santangelo was sent off for tripping 4:25 into the second, but scored at 13:01 on Alex Kovalev's 6th of the year to even the score at 1-1 after 2, with the shots at 24-13 after 2. The Cowboys came out flying in the 3rd and scored 2:02 in on Rick Atkinson's 2nd of the year, from Jesse Scoggins and Shane Santangelo. Nick Schoolfield stopped 20 of 21 for his 6th win of the year. The win puts the Cowboys 2 points out of the 4th and final promotion position, still in 6th with 3 games to play.
