PHANTOM’s account.... as Team 1's Co-Ordinator.
NOTES in Blue.

DAY 1
Arriving on Saturday morning, I was greeted by the MARSHALS, who this event were all from the infamous
BUSHPIGS team. Meeting the LATEST team to debut @  S.A.C., I chatted with the 5 guys from the 69th AIRSOFT. A fine bunch of gents that had travelled from all round the UK, aswell as Europe to get here, for this event. I hope to see them again soon. After all the paperwork and chronographing was completed, the teams were finalised and announced.

@ S.A.C. again.......!
Meeting up with my team at the target range, I introduced myself as the team’s Co-ordinator for the event. Indeed, I had left my sniper rifle at home, as I was to play a team role instead of a lone scout. I explained that we would have to pull together as a team if we intended to win. Which we all agreed was the aim of our game. I explained how FREEFORM rules work (ie. set your own objectives and use any tactics) and that due to our lack of site knowledge, would have to play closely to avoid friendly fire and getting split up. Knowing that the 24 HR Champs were amongst our opponents, we expected to be facing an aggressive and mobile team. In order to turn the game our way, I had already planned to play a defensive game, keeping risks to a minimum. I informed the guys of the plan and asked them if they were happy to follow my direction. I also explained at times, that I would maybe shout and expect to get a response, but that is just how I play.

I made a MASTER MAP (in my own personal map case) that had coded references, which the team copied onto their personal laminate maps. We agreed on some basic sub team names - RED, GREEN, BLUE and BLACK. Although we didn’t really use these much in the game, as I picked players from different sub teams to work together, as required. We set up 2 pre arranged radio channels for comm’s with the MARSHALS.
Our team was:

Phantom (me) - CAR15
Mantis - PDW
Stinger - M4
Soap - P90TR
Nitrox - FAMAS (non hop)
Nilz - SR16
Nete Pete - M24 (bolt action rifle 500fps)
Capt. - M16A2 with under barrel Ithaca M37
Satan - P90
Sab - Supermas
Spectre - Supermas (arriving 10.30pm Day1)
Wraith - M4 SR (arriving early Day 2)
After our limited chat, we returned to the SAFEZONE and kited up ready for the off. A coin was flipped and we were given the eastern end of the zone as our start point. I quickly made a plan..... as the 69th were sleeping in the SAFE ZONE, they had only limited equipment to carry. Therefore I set up the order of the patrol, with the laden guys at the front, protected by the 69th at the rear. I informed everyone that we were not traveling in a straight line to our first position and would move as fast as possible to get away from our opponents.

Standing at the exit, I got the thumbs up from everyone and seconds later the AIR HORN marked the beginning of the event. Moving off on point, I knew the ground ahead was clear, with our opponents being somewhere on our right flank. So moved off quickly heading 150m uphill, to the lower trenches. Waving on the patrol, I told MANTIS to follow the treeline towards the gorse and that I would catch him up. Not wanting to lose contact with our rear guard, I directed the center of the patrol through. When the tail enders came into sight, I waved them on, not wanting them to linger. We set off along the treeline and soon found the rest of the patrol, resting up  with the flag. I tasked NETE with watching the lower path 100m away. As I moved off, I indicated that we needed to press onto our lying up place (LUP). Negotiating the gorse, I told Mantis to position NILZ and NETE to cover the Day/Night boundary and watch the open field, back the way we had come.

Turned out that O.D. had followed us, as he had no equipment to carry into the game. While his teammates set up their camp on the plateau.
