| I bought my Rover 416Si brand new in September 1997. Basically being a Honda Civic 5-door hatchback, I thought built quality and reliability would be no concern (which proved to be only partly correct). I liked the styling with the chrome grill and especially the interior trim in beige and wood (not all is fake, some is actually real, wow!!). Rover had just cut the prices so why hesitating? Original spec when bought: + 1600cc, 16V, K-series engine, 111 bhp, a Rover design + Air condition and all electrical gizmos (windows, mirrors, central door locking with remote control and a stubborn car alarm) + Antilock disc brakes all around (Front discs vented), (later Rover switched back to drums on the rear wheels) + Colour: It had to be British Racing Green |
