Nightmare on Lord Street
The Past few months in the Manning Area has been reasonably quiet for Taree admissions. Although we have had Koalas in care, the usual busy time has not eventuated so far this breeding season. This seems rather odd, as the past 3 to 4 years have proven to be extremely busy for us. We are, however, still receiving quite a few Koala sightings being reported and these included several females with Joeys.

An up-date on our furry friends

Taree Boobook: Our "Star Patient" has had a little setback over the past month with her rump ulcer enlarging slightly after doing so well for several months. She remains well and content.

Taree Pastee:  Her release is in the planning.

Taree Wally: As reported in the last edition of Gumtips he was a Motor Vehicle Accident victim and was critically injured. He had problems early on with his sight and climbing problems involving both front and hind legs on the left hand side, he appeared to be off with the "pixies". Wally's improvement has been amazing over the last 2 months. He has made  a full recovery and his estimated release time was brought forward to reflect this. Wally was released in November.  Another "star" patient released. Our Taree team will certainly miss Wally's greeting calls, however, Boobook, Pastee, and Sullee are now pleased to have some peace and quiet from that noisy boy.

Taree Sullee: A female Joey is our newest little patient. Found in the forest at Bulahdelah suffering from conjunctivitis, a severe cough and was very unwell. We are pleased to report that Sullee has improved and is doing well in the short time she has been with us.

As this is the last edition of gumtips before Christmas, may we take this opportunity to wish you all, especially our wonderful and caring Manning Team, our dedicated Taree Veterinary Hospital Vets & staff, Greater Taree City Council staff, all the Gloucester, Port Macquarie & Coffs Harbour NPWS staff who have assisted us with Koalas in the Manning and surrounding districts.

Have a Merry, Happy and safe Christmas.
