COUTRE COTURE COTURE...

The Mother of all Fashion!

"A coutre house resembles nothing so much as a behive, with its workers, warriors, watchers, and artisans, whose only purpose is to hatch the precious eggs that, in our trade, are called the collections. Yes, a beehive, one that for years now has hummed so loudly that it can be heard in the four corners of the earth. In the beginning is the sketch. That's our Word. That is what leads, what remains the referent. Then, there is the pattern, which allows assessment, interruption, continuity. Then the fabric, which marks an essential stage, the stage of boldness and risk. Finally the model arrives, which takes its first tentative steps before joining the others, to form the collection. Although overcoming all these trials requires goodwill on everyone's part, this goodwill would be nothing without talent......... We know this story very well: we have been telling it for years. And yet, it continues to surprise and enthrall us. As if we didn't know the ending." - Pierre Berge

My personal Favorite Coture Houses

  • Chanel
  • Christian Dior
  • Yves Saint Laurent
  • Christian Lacroix
  • Magazines or reading material that can help you stay in touch with the fashion world!

Vogue - Vogue has many different issues almost one issue for every country, evan if you cant speak the language you can still see the pictures and the styles. Personaly my favorite is British Vogue it is funky and more concintrated on the fashion, where American Vogue is more concentrated on the reading material.

Teen Vogue - is what I recomend for teenage girls throughout Y or seventeen and grab Teen Vogue it is the most accurate, and helpful, and mature. You are trying to become young ladies and women, not 12 year olds who watch WB. You want a funky a cute and hip style not a style that people can match you by suberb.

W magazine - my personal favorite not only can you keep up with whats going on in Fashion but also in the height of society!

Nylon - great fresh young hip look on fashion, without going cheep. "I like fashion to go down to the street, but can't accept that it should originate there." - CoCo Chanel

Bazaar - The magazine of the stars! This is a great magazine for treating yourself. Its all about fashion and the look, if you are looking for pity and acceptance of your celulit and the cheepest way to get rid of it, this is not the magazine for you.

Another Magazine - Interesting and Artistic, inspiring and highly contraversal (I LOVE IT!). Only for those who can accept and embrace the avant gard. Not the largest archive of fashion but anyone who is anyone in fashion owns at least one copy of it.

WWW - great for seeing the fashion shows and the way the designer wants it. Personaly I get tierd of seeing fashion spreeds where all I see is the models eyes! I just want to see the cloths!!!!

These are just a few of the hundreds of magazines that can help you stay in touch. Try to just grab one a month and play around with different styles. It can make a difference!
