AS A GUIDE I WILL:
***
Remember the guide promise.
*
Always stand still and quietly when in the Horseshoe.
*
Listen to and follow all instructions carefully.
*
Take responsibility for my actions.
*
Accept the three strikes and you’re out rule.
*
Respect the opinion of my fellow Guides.
*
Never leave it for someone else to do.
*
Do my best.
*
Have fun.

THREE STRIKES AND OUT.
***
If the same fault has to be mentioned to an individual three times during
the one evening they will be asked not to attend next weeks meeting.
*
No strikes will be carried over into the next meeting.
*
If three meetings are missed in any one term by an
individual as a result of paragraph one, they will be asked not to return.
*
No strikes will be carried over into the next term.

We will do our personal best to keep the following:

Keep the Guide Promise and Law.

Guides should have fun.
(Guides should be fun even on the serious issues!)

Everyone should be committed to Guides.
(Don’t skip meetings unless you have a good reason.)

Every member of the unit should have a say in the activities we do.

Everyone should be fair, friendly and helpful to everyone else.

Everyone should listen to others and co-operate with others.
(Everyone should be quiet when one person is speaking and wait for their turn.)
(When an activity or game is about to be run, quieten down quickly so that everyone can hear the instructions and understand them first time.)
(When you are trying to organise things between you, have a little give and take.)

Wear uniform or blue or appropriate clothes to each meeting or event.

Be sensible - don't mess about.
(Don't climb on gym apparatus or the stage.)

We allow for the fact that sometimes its harder than others to keep guidelines and that each member of the unit will find different things hard to follow.

If there is repeated breaking of the guidelines, then a couple of the Guiders and the relevant Patrol Leader will talk with the unit member in question in private and try to help and sort out any problems that have come up. (For Guiders or Patrol Leaders, then the talk will be with appropriate other Guiders and Patrol Leaders).
Our guidelines are:

1. Guides should try to arrive between 6.45pm and 7.00pm on meting nights.

2. Subs must be paid every week whether the guide is present or not.

3. Patrols to be involved in the running of meetings. Patrol Leaders should hold Patrol Leader Councils.

4. Uniform tops or guide colours to be worn at meetings, regulation/tidy uniform for special occasions.

5. Guides and leaders to try to be friends with everyone, respect the opinion of others and treat everyone equally.

6. Guides, or their parents, should tell a leader when they leave the unit.

7. Guides and leaders to make full use of meeting time and work together to make decisions about programmes and activities.

8. Guides will try to support activities both in and out of our meeting times, and support one fund raising activity each term.

9. Patrol leader elections will take place every year.

10. Those guidelines will be reviewed annually in January.
