I started these pages as part of the Boguk keeps healthy badge.  I intend to keep adding to them even once I've finished the badge.

The guide programme is based around 5 zones, one of which is “Healthy Lifestyles”.  This doesn’t just mean diet and exercise, although they are of course a major component.  These pages are an aid to exploring various aspects this zone with your unit.  Of course they are not comprehensive but I hope it will give you a few ideas.

The pages are divided into 5 sections:

Exercise and fitness covers how you can help your guides to get moving – particularly during meetings.

Diet and nutrition – this area can be difficult to cover in meetings, particularly if you have no cooking facilities.  Almost all of the ideas here can be used in this situation.

Mental health is a difficult topic, but you may be surprised to realise how much of what you do already links in here.

Parts of the body - hair, teeth, eyes, etc.

Accidents and illness – preparing your guides for problems and helping them avoid them in the first place.
