PLOTS

•In the movie Dr. No the first S.P.E.C.T.R.E. plot was revealed, the toppling of American Missiles for a large fee from a foreign power.

•In the movie From Russia With Love is where the second plot arose. S.P.E.C.T.R.E. tricked the British into stealing a Russian LEKTOR encoder for them. After James Bond steals it, they plan to retrieve it by use of an assassin. Resulting in getting the LEKTOR to sell back to the Russians and also killing the famous James Bond 007.

•Smaller plots that were revealed in the movie Thunderball consisted of blackmailing a double agent, assassinating a French heavy water specialist, consulting for the British train robbery and distributing Red China narcotics in the USA.

•Another plot was revealed in the movie Thunderball. This plot consisted of stealing two atomic weapons and blackmailing the British government into paying £100 million ransom for the weapons.

•The fourth plot in the James Bond movies of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. is when the Chinese government paid S.P.E.C.T.R.E. to hijack both an American and Russian spacecraft by using a specially designed spacecraft to make each country think it was the other. Thus creating a spark between the two super-powers, Russia and the United States. However, during the operation Ernst Stavro Blofeld rewrote his agreement with the Chinese demanding another £100 million.

•The last time S.P.E.C.T.R.E. is mentioned is in the movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service. The plot in this movie is to hold the world ransom with the use of biological warfare. The terms of ransom were for the world to pardon all of Blofeld's crimes. After this failed operation, Ernst Stavro Blofeld apparently went independent.

However, a Bulgar named Krilencu in From Russia With Love made plans to harm the Turks and Gypsies working in conjunction with MI6 from an unforgotten hatred.

•In The Living Daylights, General Georgi Koskov convinces M and the Minister of Defense that General Leonid Pushkin has begun the operation Smyert Shpionam as a cover for the killing of several MI6 agents by Brad Whitaker

In both cases SMERSH was never actually involved with the plots of the James Bond movies.

PLOTS

•The KGB was minimally involved with the From Russia With Love plot. The LEKTOR was stolen from the Russians whose secret service is the KGB. The KGB also used the Bulgars to follow Ali Kerim Bey and his sons around to keep tabs on them. They also kept tabs on Tanya and followed her and Bond on their escape route.

•In You Only Live Twice the KGB was involved because the Russians and Americans were both threatening to one another over the disappearances of their spacecrafts. The KGB would have worked in conjunction with the Russian Army if the Russians had attacked the Americans.

•In The Spy Who Loved Me one of the KGB's top agents, Major Anya Amasova (Triple X), was sent to find the microfilm and to stop the abduction of Soviet and British submarines. In this film the KGB is working in conjunction with MI6.

•In For Your Eyes Only the KGB is involved by means of arranging to obtain a British ATAC system from Aris Kristatos, a shipping magnate. Aris obtained the ATAC by spying on Bond and Melina Havelock when they went down to the sunken British spy ship and took the ATAC from them when they resurfaced. The KGB was not an ally of MI6 in this film.

•In A View To A Kill, the KGB had a talk with Max Zorin implicating that no one ever leaves the KGB, they stay or die. But then Zorin uses his girls, Mayday and Jenny Flex to overpower the KGB agents and make General Alexis Gogol retreat. In this movie the KGB is a slight ally to Bond.

•In The Living Daylights it is supposedly the KGB who abducts General Georgi Koskov from the custody of MI6. This was really the plan of Brad Whitaker and Georgi Koskov to fake his defection from the KGB. In this movie General Koskov has 2 KGB bodyguards making sure he doesn’t get away, they do a lousy job. In this movie the KGB is an enemy to MI6, but an ally to James Bond.
