Global Stats Hockey League Opening Doors
Detroit, MI - Today former NWHL Commissioner Jason Greenway closed the doors to the NWHL, his prodigal league that has been revived several times in many numerous incarnations, has finally seperated himself from the NWHL name.

"NWHL was a period in time," said Greenway. "Some thought it was a great league, but on the inside it had many flaws.  The GSHL is the new league that will dominate the internet.  With NWHL I rushed into things too quickly.  I tried to make it too great too quick, and it came back to bit us all."

Reports are that the GSHL will be a "fantasy" league, with "fantasy" teams and "fantasy" players.

"The NHL pros are getting sick of me," Greenway said laughing. "So I figured we would get a new crop of pros to play in the GSHL, like NWHL I have many plans for this league.  But one new rule, is that there will be no trading of draft picks.  This in part is because some people tend to fork over all their draft picks and quit.  Leaving the next GM nothing to build off of.  Also, draft pick trading is very messy, we will start out with a 6 round draft and the more junior leagues we incorporate the more draft rounds we will have.  Eventually it will grow to about 18-24 rounds."

There is no set date to the launch of GSHL.  Stay tuned to the GSHL Network for more information as it become available.
