Writing a quality novel that has a juicy and intriguing plot, real and engaging characters, a sense of humor and the ability to inspire a genuine emotional investment in the outcome is near-to-impossible. Brockmann is the only author I've read who manages to combine those four elements - which I consider essential to any kind of novel - into the romance genre. That's pretty damn impressive. I've loved her writing ever since I picked up The Unsung Hero in a Philadelphia Borders Bookshop in 2000. She made me laugh, she made me cry and she never made me want to kill either the hero or the heroine - a pretty amazing feat, all things considered. You see, I can't stand it when the hero is TD&S (Tall, Dark & Sardonic) or the heroine is TSTL (Too Stupid To Live). I want the fantasy to have something I can relate to in real-life and I want to know that the author poured her passion, her heart, and her immortal soul into what she wrote. All I can say is that Brockmann delivers every time. So this is a page to celebrate her hard work. Enjoy!
