Suzanne Brockmann

Suzanne Brockmann

Suzanne Brockmann is Evil Incarnate. The Good Kind. Trust me on this one, folks.

She's also the best romance novelist in America today.

"But, Green Owl," you say, "She's just a romance novelist. Does she even deserve to be grouped with the likes of Shakespeare, Tolkien, Ellison, Parker?"

To which I answer, "Hell, yes!"

Let me explain to all you heathens out there.

Writing a novel is hard work.

Writing a good novel is even more difficult.

Suzanne Brockmann a.k.a.
"The Evil Author Suz"
Writing a quality novel that has a juicy and intriguing plot, real and engaging characters, a sense of humor and the ability to inspire a genuine emotional investment in the outcome is near-to-impossible. Brockmann is the only author I've read who manages to combine those four elements - which I consider essential to any kind of novel - into the romance genre. That's pretty damn impressive.

I've loved her writing ever since I picked up The Unsung Hero in a Philadelphia Borders Bookshop in 2000. She made me laugh, she made me cry and she never made me want to kill either the hero or the heroine - a pretty amazing feat, all things considered.

You see, I can't stand it when the hero is TD&S (Tall, Dark & Sardonic) or the heroine is TSTL (Too Stupid To Live). I want the fantasy to have something I can relate to in real-life and I want to know that the author poured her passion, her heart, and her immortal soul into what she wrote. All I can say is that Brockmann delivers every time. So this is a page to celebrate her hard work. Enjoy!
