THE GREENEY KITCHEN

Ethnically diverse as we Greeneys are, mealtimes have always provided us with a delightful variety of repasts. I remember Aunt Mary's traditional ziti on Christmas Eve.... pig nights at her house when I was a child, when the cousins were given the privilege of eating spaghetti with their hands, as a break from and a reward for the impeccable table manners that were required the rest of the week...my own mother's German meat salad at every family gathering.... Aunt Faith's delectable cranberry relish, without which no Thanksgiving meal would be complete... Grandma's bean soup, served at her camp on Lake Delta... cousin Kedoe the Bambi killer's venison jerky.... the list goes on and on.

There is only one thing that a Greeney does as well and enthusiastically as eat, and that is hustle. And so I've hustled everyone in the family who hasn't blocked me from e-mail access yet, and compiled this collection of recipes for everybody to enjoy. As my German grandmother was fond of saying, Guten Appetit! And, as my Italian grandmother was fond of saying..... well, never mind. Geocities regulations, to say nothing of my habitual delicacy, prohibit the transcription. Instead, I'll share the one Italian sentiment that I learned from a television pasta commercial and not from Grandma, and coincidentally the only one repeatable in polite company:

ABBONDANZA!!!
