Basic Driving Strategy

The most important thing to remember is to brake going into a corner and accelerate out. If you master this, you can basically get through most of the game without many problems

Your car, basically, can turn, brake, and accelerate. you have to realize that it can't do all three. when turning, you can't expect to accelerate to a high speed. Brake before turning, then accelerate out.

You should learn to get a good "line" for the course. Know where to brake, where to accelerate, and how to take turns. The best way to do this, beleive it or not, is the lisence tests. They will teach you how to perfect a course (especially the S Lisence). Watch the demos and try to follow the line the AI uses.

You should change your oil as often as possible. Many people change their oil before every race, but if you're only doing 3-5 laps, there probably isn't a need to do this. If you don't change the oil often enough, you could end up losing HP permanently.

A key strategy in longer races is to use the pits wisley. You should have some sort of pit strategy going in. Know your tires and how much damage they can take before it begins to affect your driving performance heavily. Do the math, find out how long it takes to pit, and find out how much time you're losing because of your tires. Know when to pit.

Simulation Mode Strategy

The first thing you should do is get your B Lisence. If you can get all golds, it will help you greatly because you can use the credits you earn at the start to upgrade the car you win instead of buying one. It will be tough, so if you can't get golds on all the tests, tere's no shame in buying either a Mazda Miata, or a Toyota Trueno as your starting car. Use your starting car to race the early Begginer league races such as the Sunday and Clubman cup. With the Trueno, you can also enter the 80's sports car cup, and with the Miata, you can enter the Roadster cup. Save up enough money for a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI. Use it to enter the more challenging races and upgrade it to its max, maxing out the HP first. you should buy cheap HP upgrades such as a Performance chip and a racing muffler. Once you've upgraded the car to it's max, Put Rally tires on it and win all the rally races. It may take a while, but the money is good and once you beat all of them, you're awarded with the Suzuki Escudo.

Use this car to win the "Like the Wind" race to get a Mazda 787B.

You can also win the Super Speedway Endurance race until you win the F/090. You should now be on the fast track and be able to win enough races in proffesional league to get a nice garage of cars with the money you earn. In simulation mode, you will be awarded cars for acheiving certain status. When you get all golds in the B Lisence tests, you receive a Mazda MX-5 Miata. When you get all golds in the A Lisence tests, you get a Mazda RX-8. For getting all golds on the IB tests, you get a Nissan Z Concept car. For all golds on the IA Lisence, you get an Aston Martin Vanquish. For getting all golds on S Lisence tests (good luck), you get a Dodge Viper GTSR Concept car. For getting all golds on the Rally Lisence tests, you receive a Subaru Imprezza Rally Car Prototype. When you attain 50%, you get a Corvette C5R. For 75%, you get a Mazda 787B, and for 100%, you get a F/094.

When you beat all the races in Begginer League, you get a Mitsubishi lancer Evolution VI. For all the races in Amatuer League, you get a Dodge Viper Team Oreca model.

for all the Endurance races, you get a F/094, and for all the races in Professional league, you get an F/686.

Upgrading Your Car

MUFFLER - Mufflers will upgrade your horsepower. None are too eexpensive, so whenever possible, outfit your car with the best muffler, the racing model. This should be one of the first parts you buy for any car.

NA TUNE UP - Naturally Aspirated tuning is available for several cars. While Turbo or supercharging your car is often the better option, sometimes you can't. Buy whichever step you can afford, but remember, you get what you pay for.

PORT POLISH A small horse power upgrade, but it's pretty cheap. A good part to buy near the start.

ENGINE BALANCING - This horsepower upgrade isn't too useful, since it's fairly expensive and doesn't help out too much. You should only buy this if your'e maxing out your car, are having real problems with your car, or if you've got money to burn.

DISPLACEMENT UP - A good all around upgrade for your car's horsepower. Not a lot of cars can use this option.

RACING CHIP - This should be the first part you fit onto your car. Very cheap and very worthwhile. It will upgrade your cars HP.

SUPENSION - This is where your expertise in tuning comes in. You'll have to alter some settings to make this part worthwhile. This part will allow you to alter the suspension settings if you purchase the fully customizable option.

RACING BRAKES - Essential for long, curvy courses such as Route 11 or the Cote D'Azur. These will do exactly what you think they will - Increase your braking power.

BRAKE BALANCE CONTROLLER - This part will allow you to fine to the brake balance setting. When adjusting the brake balance, remember that the more power in the front, the less responsive the car is, while with more power in the back, the more the car will oversteer.

CLUTCH - This upgrade will help you when shifting gears. Don't skimp here, buy the triple plate for increased performance.

FLYWHEEL - Basically, this part will only be useful to you if you use a manual transmission. It allows you to shit more smoothly and accelerate at a steadier rate.

DRIVESHAFT - Buy this upgrade before you reduce your weight for better acceleration.

TRANSMISSION - You will want a sports transmission for low power cars, a semi racing for cars where you don't want to fiddle with the gear ratios too much, and a full racing transmission if you want to alter all the gear ratios. The final drive ratio will build up acceleration when hightened, but will reduce the car's top speed. Altering the 1st - 7th gear ratios will help keep your car from redlining and keep it revving at a good rate. basically, the farther right the lines on the graph (left side of the screen) are, your'e trading off a higher speed for a slower acceleration.

LIMITED SLIP - The full customization part will allow you to alter all the LSD settings, but if you don't want to go that far, the 1.5 way slip will increase your turning ability.

TURBO KIT - this is where you can really get your horsepower up. Depending on how much you spend, your HP will rise a certain amount for the Step 1,2,3, and 4 parts, but again, you get what you pay for.

INTERCOOLER - go for the racing model. It's a cheap and very effective Horsepower upgrade.

TIRES - this is pretty simple. Want to do some rally racing? buy raly tires. Want your tires to have better performance but wear out quicker? but super soft tires. Want sturdy tires that will last but won't increase your car's performance much? buy super slick tires. Want a steady balance between Performance and Durability? buy Medium tires.

WEIGHT REDUCTION - This will strengthen your power to weight ratio, allowing your car to accelerate steadier and acheive a higher top speed. You have to go step buy step here, but the only one that will really hurt you wallet is step 3.

AYC CONTROLLER - This will allow you to alter the Active Yaw controls on the settings menu. A higher setting will give more acceleration during turns.

VCD CONTROLLER - Similar to the AYC Controller, this will allow you to alter various settings for your car.
