Marriage Prayer
Karen Shader

Lord, bless our marriage with Your
wisdom and guidance.
Help us above all to be kind to one another.
When life's daily challenges cause us
concern, remind us of our many blessings.

May we turn to You first in time of need,
for a cord of three strands is not easily broken.
If we have children, grant us patience and
wisdom to raise them in love and joy.
Help us to teach them the beauty of Your world.

May we reach out to those in need with
helping hands and generous hearts.
Fill our home with friends and laughter,
regardless of our material wealth.

Help us to grant one another freedom and
trust to explore our individual gifts ---
staying close enough to touch, but with
space enough to grow.

And as we change and learn and live,
may our love grow stronger and deeper
with each passing year.

Amen

Friends, you and me....
you brought another friend...
and then there were 3...
we started our group...
Our circle of friends...
and like that circle...
there is no beginning or end..

The Rose
by Bette Midler

Some say love, it is a river
that drowns the tender reed.
Some say love, it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed.
Some say love, it is a hunger,
an endless aching need.
I say love, it is a flower,
and you it's only seed.

It's the heart, afraid of breaking,
that never learns to dance.
It's the dream, afraid of waking,
that never takes a chance.
It's the one who won't be taken,
who cannot seem to give.
And the soul, afraid of dyin',
that never learns to live.

When the night has been too lonely,
and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love,
in the spring becomes The Rose.

"Parent's Murphy's Law"
~Written by Bruce Lanksy~

1.   Parenting is a 24-hour-a-day job with no salary, no
raises, no promotions and very few vacations.

2.   Parents are responsible for everything that
happens to their children.

3.   Guilt and self-blame are occupational hazards.

4.   Parents don't get worker's compensation or
any other fringe benefits.

5.  Parents can never retire -- even when their kids
ask them to.

6.   Parents "don't get no respect" --until they die--
and then it's too late.
