Grandmother Squash
BIOS- A Short Summary of Four Silly Boys.
Grandmother Squash came about from the band Inlet which formed in September of 1999.  The Members of Inlet were Mike Marquard, Jesse Farnsworth, Mike McDonough, and Nic Koziolek.  After about 8 months together, the band decided to start something new because the band currently had a metal image and Mike, Mike, and Nic were growing tired of it.  The three left Jesse on fairly good terms and started up a new production.  The three wrote songs over the rest of 2000 and started playing concerts under the name Grandmother Squash in 2001.  In September of 2001, Mike and Mike ventured to college which brought a short break to the band, however, the band amazingly wrote six new songs which they debuted at a pair of concerts over the Holiday season of 2001.  Also, the band added another guitarist, Nic's brother, Ben.  In April of 2002, GSquash released a seven song EP, which was recorded over the holiday season of 2001. Durning the summer of 2002 the band regathered and played a number of successful shows in the Twin Cities metro area. Breaking again for school, the band continues to write and contemplate the future...........
Nic Koziolek-drums
Equipment:  Nic uses a black Pearl set that keeps expanding.  Check back soon for more info.
Nic came out of nowhere.  Through school, Mike and Mike had known him to be one of the smart, geeky younger kids, but not at all as a musician.  Nic's skill and "cool" personality was brought to notice by former Inlet singer, Jesse Farnsworth.  Nic is noted for his amazing fills, amazing speed, stick dropping, and willingness to take off his shirt. He's not a geek either.
Mike McDonough-bass guitar, vocals

Equipment:  Mike uses a stickered-up Fender Squier P-Bass.  He connects that with a Monster Bass 500 cable to an old Peavy 2x12 guitar tube amp which has been rigged with woofers instead of tweeters.
Mike brings up the low end of things in a reasonable fasion.  He loves to bring in the many different styles of music he likes to his bass lines.  Mike is known for coming up with crazy phrases, like the band's name, and getting a little crazy at rehearsal if his blood sugar is low.  Mike is currently employed in Faribault, MN and is working hard to gain admittance to an art school.

Mike takes the role of dictatorship in the band, sometimes being a stubborn pony, but doing most of the song writing it may make sense.  Mike's vocal skills continue to improve and he can run the sustain on a solo for miles.  Mike is known for dirty hair, hating people who don't write their own music, hating Fred Durst, and being late to every rehersal.  Mike also plays guitar in the bands Acrylic and Hinken, and is currently a student at St. Louis University.

Ben joined the band in October of 2001 after a long search of another guitarist.  When the band started, Ben, Nic's brother, was very young and hadn't started playing guitar, but two years later, his skills grabbed the attention of Mike Marquard.  Ben seemed to be the logical fit to the group.  After only 4 rehearsals, Ben played his first show with the group and came through in a huge way by finally filling out the Squash's sound.
