Recently celebrating my fifth anniversary in the angel mom program has compelled me to do this page about my experience. Being an angel mom has been a wonderful, rewarding experience and the best day of my life was the day I signed up to be this little boy in Minnesota's angel mom, he was 6 at the time and now is 11. His mom has been generous enough to send me updated pictures of him for the past 5 years and watching him grow into a young man has been a pure enjoyment. Being the mom of 3 girls and grandmother to 2 girls, I didn't have much experience with boys except having a brother growing up so this was indeed a welcome change from the norm as I knew it. Especially since I decided that as birthday and Christmas presents I had it set in my mind not to buy him any violent toys that involved guns, or weapons of any kind. Boy was I in for an eye opening experience, it seems that most boys toys involve just that so it was a mission of love and concern that I eventually found the perfect toy year after year. Hopefully he enjoyed them as well as much time and caring went into choosing each one.
Anyways, the people I have met while in this fine organization have become great friends and a wonderful support system. I highly recommend becoming an angel mom. This page is also a place I wanted to show off my recent awards for the 5 years I've been participating but to be honest I never expected any rewards or recognition and would be fine just staying in the background doing what I do but it was a pleasant surprise to receive these just the same. Thank you to Cathy M, Maureen, Dawn, Chimmer and all the fine ladies in this organization whose names I may have forgotten to mention (I am becoming a bit senile in my "old age" :))
