The Champions Gallery!

Here they are... those horses from years past that stood out above the rest and become our Champions. Congratulations! The competition was very, very, stiff, and you've earned it!

The 2004 Show ~

Grand Champion

Section #1 & Show Champion

Jazz Baby Plantation Walker Colt Katie Wargowsky Dancing Horseshoes Ranch

No questions why this picture is a winner - it's beautiful!
And certainly a wonderful homage to photoshows past :)

Section Winners:

Section #2 Winner

"Jack Flash " Appaloosa Stallion Katie Wargowsky Dancing Horseshoes Ranch

The colour of horses isn't just about the horse; it's about the mood
of the horse, and how this relates to the over all picture. And this in
this one, what better than the Old West for a feisty appaloosa?

Section #3 Winner

"Skydancer" Grey stallion Sarah and Emily Dowlearn

In this class we looked to find the horse that best exemplified its breed,
and what better than this artful Lipizzaner, his herd following closely at
his heels?

Section #4 Winner

"Aboe" Thoroughbred Stallion Annete

The scene is a simple enough scene, but what I like about this picture is that one
almost has to double-take to see that it's actually a model partaking
in a quiet morning's activities!

Section #5 Winner

"Jaws Theme" Dixie Fantasy and Yellow Rose Missouri Foxtrotter Colt & Selle Francais Filly Katie Wargowsky Dancing Horseshoes Ranch

I love this section! And this entry certainly speaks for itself...
of course it says "... de-dun.... de-dun... de-dun, de-dun, DE-DUN DE-DUN
DA-DANT!..."

Honourable Mentions

"dp. Juanita"
Arabian Mare
Micro Mini Shagya Arabian Mare
Owned by Gabrielle Cielo

This is possibly the BEST Micro Mini picture I have ever seen.
The focus is immaculate and the scenery is perfectly
proportioned - no small feat for such a tiny mite of a horse!

"Doodle All Day"
Shire Stallion
Emily Hannon

Simply a great picture - never be afraid to experiment
with your image in the name of artistic merit!

The 2003 Show ~

Grand Champion:

Section #1 Winner and Show Champion

Tokyo Pride
Thoroughbred Gelding
Sloane Eljay

This picture speaks for itself, every bit a champion now as the day it won. In every show, there is an entry that just seems to leap from the page - or gallop off into the distance as the case may be. What a gorgeous picture!

Section Winners:

Section #2

"Snowy Knight"
Clydesdale Stallion
Sarah & Emily Dowlearn

This picture of Snowy Knight conveys a wonderful sense of artistic mastery, the rich shading of his silver form melting from the dusk; this is indeed the dark horse who steals the show!

Section #3

Silver Strike
Boulonnais Drafter colt
Sloane Eljay

Here be a delicate little draft foal with all the archaic whimsy of her type, and gives a new meaning to "feathers on her feet" with each dainty step!

Section #4

"Bruchette"
Buckskin Selle Francis Mare
Ana Ackley

Now don't we all want to take that pleasant ride through the woods with Bruchette, cantering easily along the sun-dappled path....

Section #5

"Thundershower And Hopalong Cassidy"
Thundershower - Quarter Horse Stallion
Karen Fawcett

Here's a perfect example of creativity, wit, and wisdom... and one darn cute little froggy!

Honorable Mention:

"Playing with dolls ..."
Bar None Stables
Ellen Sassani

Can't you just hear their mothers in the next room having tea? *G*

The FIRST Photo Show ~

Show Champion

"This Bud's For You"
Shire Stallion
Ellen Sassani

A little Micro Mini with a lot of character, he just stole the show.

Runner Up

"Bud's Paycheck"
QH Stallion
Renee Holbrook

While Bud sure seems a popular name for reasons unknown, it's no wonder why this guy was a very close second!

Second Up

"Simply Fabulous"
Morgan Mare
Ellen Sassani

Here is another wonderful little micro mini, surely holding her own against all the big boys.

Honourable Mention

"Silver Appaloosa Family"
Cari Harpin

A lovey family showing off their finest, touchingly photographed. A Beauty!

Still want to see more pictures? Check out our Picture Perfect page for other great photo show moments. Enjoy!

More pictures from previous shows will be added as I unarchive them. Unfortunately, some of the 2001 & 02 show pictures were lost because of a computer crash. If you have a champion picture from a previous show that's not up here, please email me and we'll put it up where it belongs!

Thank you everyone for participating. It has been another great show. I hope to see you all back again for our next one. *G* See you then!
