Marilyn's Place in Cyber Space

Welcome to my little area of cyber space. This is my first web page. This page will contain poetry I write for (and about) all the wonderful friends I've met on the internet. Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon.

Who would have thought that at my age,
I would be building my own home page?
I have a new home, as you can see,
Thanks to the mysteries of technology.
Here in cyber-space is where you'll find me!
With the click of a mouse, you can visit my house.
Come in everyone, let's have some fun.
I hope you like how I've furnished the place,
Though it's nothing fancy, no pearls and lace.
You may find that you're mentioned here,
That's because you're my friends, so dear.
Come back again, when you get a chance,
Look around, give it a glance.
When you do, you may see something new,
Something I've written, just for you.

Love ya,
Marilyn

My Beautiful Friends

You are the most beautiful people I've known.
It comes from your souls and straight to my heart.
Let not petty quarrels tear us apart.

A most unusual place that we met,
On this marvelous, technical road
Called "the net."

We stand side-by-side, though most we'll never meet,
In a bond we call "friendship"
Which makes us complete.

Your beauty I see
Each time that we speak.
Your are the best part of my day-to-day week.

The beauty within you grows deeper each day.
The love that comes through
Shines bright as the sun.

We come from all parts of this wonderful land,
And maybe, someday, (if fate will allow)
We will for a moment touch each other's hand.

And know this my friends,
If occasionally we must part,
You will always be with me, deep in my heart.

Through All Times

Through times good and bad,
Both happy and sad
Wherever I go,
Traveling roads high and low,
I have in my heart,
What words can't impart.
The love of good friends,
Which I hope never ends.

Through few of us meet,
Or pass on the street,
It seems like I've known you forever.
We've laughed and we've cried,
We've shared pain and pride.
Our emotions don't hide.

We've not been together
For too long a time,
Yet still, we're like birds of a feather.
Sometimes it's been rough,
And often quite tough,
Some looking to split us asunder.
We'll weather the storm,
We'll stay safe and warm,
Wrapped in the love of true friendship.

When we're put to the test,
We all give our best.
No effort's too small,
When we help one and all.
So, let friendships remain,
This bond to sustain.

Today I Saw A Rainbow

Today I saw a rainbow,
The second in a week.
It's radiance left me breathless,
And I could barely speak.

Such a delight, the red so bright,
It's a color both warm and fun.
Red reminds me of a beautiful rose,
Or the giggles evoked by a big clown nose.

Yellow's a reminder of
Our ever shining sun.
Without it's light, there'd be no life
Upon this place called earth.

The color blue can be cold and harsh,
Through winter's dreary weather.
But soon the green of spring will bring
The promise of life renewed.

My favorite color, purple brings to mind,
The magical land of nether.
Where mystical creatures romp and play,
With nary a care to display.

Those who do not like the rain,
Should sometimes stop and ponder.
Without the rain, we'd never see
That beautiful arc up yonder.

If I could grab those colors,
And put them in my pen,
What beautiful words I'd be able to write,
For all the world to read.

I know there is no pot of gold
"Neath that band of gloroius colors.
When the sun breaks through a rainy day,
The rainbow we behold.
