Our involment in this wonderful breed began on the 30th March 1977,with the birth of  a bouncing ball of fluff . Aust. Ch. Delft Blauw Driftkop ( Raj to his family and friends) Raj and I learnt together, showing  in NSW, QLD, NT and VIC. Raj in his show career won BIS All Breeds, Royal Challenges , Multi Best in and R/U in Groups Awards. Rajah was bred to Alkmaar Circe in 1979 this mating produced Aust. Ch. Delft Blauw Roullette ( Rikki). What can I say, Rikki gave us the world, in and out of the show ring and her legacey in her offspring from 2 wonderful dogs Aust. Ch. Gavimir Ubacaan (UK), and Aust. Ch. Vandaban Fanfare (UK) From her first litter came Aust. Ch. Grachthond Volbrengen Aust. Ch. Grachthond Bloemrijk, Grachthond Marijke and NZ Ch. Grachthond Markzien. Her second litter produced Aust. Ch. Grachthond Volmacht and NZ Ch. Grachthond Schemering. Our female line to this day still goes back to Rikki.

The Sydney Royal Easter Show of 1982 was one the most highlight in showing for us. When our homebred boy Grachthond Volbrengen ( Banner) won from the Puppy class taking not only dog Challenge Certificate, Best of Breed, short list for Best in Group. Then winning Best Male Puppy in Group and going on to win Best Opposite Sex Puppy in Show. What A Win, What A Dog.

In 1982 after spending a few years looking overseas for a dog, I saw offspring from Eng. Ch. Gelderland Clipper of Swashway (Clipper) and into our lives came a son Aust. Ch. Vandaban Fanfare (UK) Reu, followed in 1983 Aust. Ch. Keesland Hailey (UK) co owned with D. Walker. In 1991 came Aust. Ch. Keesland Quest for Fame (UK) Rory, and then in 1997 Neradmik Black Diamond (UK) Bodie and Aust. Ch. Neradmik Found Me'N Angel (UK) Rhythm. Rory brought the American lines of the famous Windrift Keeshonden.
Bodie and Rhythm brought aside from famous English lines, from Canada came the lines of Alpine, Klompen, and from the US, Designer, Vandy, and Windrift Kennels.

I have been involoved in this wonderful breed for nearly 30 years, and looking back I can still remember the feeling of wonder when I first brought that ball of fluff home in 1977. Was it really that long ago.
