Welcome

Welcome. I'm so glad you decided to visit here!! As the page title indicates, I am a Christian, and I would like to offer you some "glimpses" of God: who He is, His love, His power, what He has done for you, and what He has promised to do. As you browse this site, I pray that you will open your hearts and minds to receive His word as God speaks to you and that you will leave here knowing that God has truly touched you.

If you want to catch a glimpse of God's greatness, just step outside and look around: look at all of the magnificent colors found in nature, gaze up into the heavens, watch a sunrise or a sunset. God created the universe and everything in it: the sun, the moon and stars, the earth, the dry land and the seas, the trees and the grass, the flowers, the animals dwelling on the land, the fish that swim in the seas, the birds that grace our skies... But, the most precious to God, of all that He created, is man - the human race. We are so special to Him that He blessed us with the honor of being created in His image. God created us to have a relationship with Him, a close, personal relationship. But it's up to each one of us, as individuals, to grow spiritually and to prosper in that relationship. God gives us the freedom to choose how we will live our lives, but His greatest desire is to have that close relationship with us. Do you know God? Do you long for a close, personal relationship with Him? Are you growing in your knowledge of Him? Do you want to know Him more?

God loves us so much, and He wants us to share His love with others. He even sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to show us how we should live and how we should love our fellowman. Then, God offered His Son to the world as the perfect atoning sacrifice for all the sins of all the world. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He suffered the punishment for the sins of all; He took our place. Through His death, Jesus paid the price for my sins and for your sins. Then, with His resurrection, He gave us hope in the victory over death. God offers salvation and eternal life to all through Jesus Christ, His Son, if we will just come to Him through faith, accept His gift of grace, believe His word, and ask Him to forgive our sins and to come into our hearts to guide and support us as we entrust our lives to Him. Then, as Christians, we should extend that same loving kindness and forgiveness, shown to us in the life of Jesus Christ, to others.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As
I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this all men will know that you are my
disciples, if you love one another.
John 13:34-35 NIV

If we love one another, God dwelleth in us,
and his love is perfected in us.
1 John 4:12 KJV

Testimonies

While surfing the internet, I have found some awesome web sites where people are glorifying the Lord through sharing their wonderful and inspiring personal Christian testimonies. The links to a few of my favorite testimonial sites are listed below.

Faith from Facts: Testimony
"God does exist." God, Jesus Christ, apologetics, the Bible, philosophy, and being born again are topics in this testimony of a former atheist. God exists and Jesus was resurrected. Christians know that faith is founded on fact." This truly enlightening and thought-provoking testimony comes from a man who was once an atheist; he didn't believe in God, but God believed in him!! God never gives up on us!!
Dennis' Christian Website
"I was living a life that was unaware of the love of Jesus Christ, our Savior. I'm just an every day person that finally realized God is a forgiving, loving God who wants, and knows, what is best for all of us. The hand of God is on us, with us, and guiding us everyday." Witness the powerful, but humbling, experience of a man who was led to Jesus by a little child.... his very own son.

Poetic Glimpses

A Daily Prayer

Lord, show me the way I can somehow repay
all the blessings you've given to me.
Lord, teach me to do what you most want me to
and to be what you want me to be.
I'm unworthy, I know, but I do love you so
and I beg you to answer my plea;
I've not much to give but as long as I live
may I give it completely to thee.

At the Foot of the Cross

Fearing the battle was over
And I'd already lost the war,
I was tired of trying and failing.
I just couldn't fight anymore.

So, dragging my battle-scarred body,
I crawled to the foot of the cross.
And I sobbed. "Oh please, Father forgive me.
But I tried... I tried... and still lost."

Then the air grew silent around me.
I heard his voice just as clear as the dawn:
"Oh, My child, though you are tired and weary,
You can't stop, you have to go on."

At the foot of the Cross, where I met Him,
At the foot of the Cross, where He died,
I felt love, as I knelt in His presence.
I felt hope, as I looked in His eyes.

Then He gathered me lovingly to Him,
As around us God's light clearly shone.
And together we walked through my lifetime
To heal every wound I had known.

I found bits of my dreams, long forgotten,
And pieces of my life on the floor.
But I watched as He tenderly blessed them,
And my life was worth living once more.

I knew then why I had been losing.
I knew why I had not grown.
At the foot of the Cross came the answer:
I'd been fighting the battle alone.

At the foot of the Cross, where I met Him,
At the foot of the Cross, where He died,
Then I knew I could face any challenge
Together--just my Lord and I.
