Side note one: The words at the bottom are Polish for "My Little Hedgehog" and are pronounced "muy" (like in Spanish) "mah-wy yehzh". In a fit of nationalism and daring to be different, I decided to use Polish instead of English for this piece.
Side note two: The downside to using Polish is that quite a number of people, including my paternal grandmother, think the hedgehogs are bears instead. I don’t like bears. Nobody knows this but me and my husband and parents, evidently.
Side note three: Yes, it’s hanging in our daughter’s room and yes, it’s a little boy hedgehog. I was pregnant when I worked on this and didn’t know how to turn it into a little girl hedgehog in time. What would you have done?
