Hedgehog and Dormouse
This was originally a pair of kits for English greeting cards. At least, I think they were greeting cards. They sure were tiny – each one is only about 3" across if you include the "mat" – but they had envelopes. I’m guessing they were gift cards more than anything else. Anyway, I’d originally done one set of these, and then had a hard time finding a frame that would work for both of them, using the front panel of the greeting cards as mats for the cross stitches. By the time I found the frame, the cross stitches had disappeared; possibly stolen. (Yes, I have had pieces stolen. It’s unfortunate but true.) So I bought the kits again and stitched them, again, and this time got them framed. They’re too small to initial effectively. The mat situation is as follows: cross stitch, greeting-card mats, then the bigger, white mat that came with the frame, then the frame itself (a sort of matte bronze color – not what I would have picked, but it was the only frame that had a mat capable of dealing with two small square pieces).
