Reflection

I see your face,
Like a reflection,
Staring in the mirror,
You tried to reach inside of me,
Told me that I ws too blind,
To see what's really there,
I was smaller than I thought I was,
My eyes too spread out,
My nose too big,
My mouth too wide,
People walk by me,
Are you normal now?
The question keeps coming up,
Like it's going to change this time,
In reality it never does,
Left with the vanishing body,
Pale as a ghost,
'Cause I'm afraid to be myself,
And I'm afraid to be someone I'm not,
Afraid to be what I dreamed to be,
And afraid to be someone you admired,
I never wanted to be like them,
But somehow I am,
Denying what I've got,
What I had,
Again staring in the mirror,
Realized I couldn't pretend,
That reflection staring back,
Is me.
