I was born in North Kent (UK) where I attended various schools.  On completing my basic education I decided to be an accountant and qualified in the 1960's working in Chatham.  In 1976 I moved with my family to Somerset to live in a cottage over 100 years old with a fine view of Glastonbury Tor.  I later moved to the magnificent City of Wells and now live in the outskirts of Taunton with fine views of the Quantock Hills.
In the arms of my father taken in the garden in Erith, Kent probably after my Christening at St. Martins Church Barnhurst on 4th June 1939.
A studio photograph circa 1940 on right with a photo taken in Devon whilst I was evacuated..
As a boy I enjoyed my Hornby 0 gauge railways and Dinky Toys.  I preferred cricket to football.....and still do.
In our garden in Erith summer 1940.  Notice the air raid shelter with the bomb blast wall in front of the entrance.  My father believed the shelter would withstand anything except a direct hit.  Many a cold night was to be spent in there before I was evacuated to Devon and later Buckinghamshire.
Lightning was an orphan lamb we kept as a pet in the garden for a summer in Glastonbury.
Below my sons, Duncan and Stuart outside our former home near Glastonbury.
Myself,  on left, with a friend before our caving trip in Cheddar in summer 2001.
Below a picture of my mother who died in January 2000.
I have enjoyed hill walking and show a picture taken on the summit of Helvellyn in the Lake District.  I enjoy visiting veteran vehicle rallies amd show a photo of a 1952 Bedford coach with me at the wheel.   I do not own this  coach.
Above a studio photograph of myself and sister who was born in 1941.

I am a user of the Internet.  I have always been a collector and was very keen on used postage stamps of QE11 but my interest has waned.  I have a small collection of Goss crested china the theme being the crests associated with the County of Somerset.   Photos of my collection are shown on Hobbies and Photographs page..
