01.03.05 - Adam hits the atmosphere?
No, just Nepal.  Yep, the sad news is upon us, it won't be very long until drum maestro Adam Reid leaves the band.  In the middle of April, he is jetting off to Nepal to teach English to monks, and upon his return in September he'll be starting University down in Edinburgh, which is too far away for him to remain in the band.

Ad joined us in November 2002, after playing drums for one of Mike's side-project bands, Trashcandy, so we knew what he could do.  His first gig with the band was in December that year at the Path Tavern in Kirkcaldy, and every gig since then he has kept the rhythm going for us.  It's a real fucker actually, because he's the best goddamn drummer a band could have.  Seriously.  Drummers are often overlooked but Ad is fantastic, and we love him to bits, and wish him all the best.

So the gig at the Westport on March 12th looks like it's gonna be Ad's last gig with us, as we've nothing lined up after.  There may be a gig in the Doghouse on the 24th, but our world-wise drummer will be in SPAIN with his boyfriend at the time, so we'll need a temporary replacement.

Stay tuned for more news.

01.03.05 - Minor update
Have tweaked one or two things on the site, nothing major, but I think it looks a bit better

20.02.05 - Open for business!
You can now buy various Amy Hits The Atmosphere related things over at Amy's Rock Shop.  If you've got a credit or debit card and a Paypal account, you're good to go.  Over the course of the next few months, more things will be added, such as T-shirts, badges etc.  So stay tuned.

25.01.05 - And a great time was had by all
The Tsunami fundraiser was a great success, we played a short set and debuted a new song, 'Wasted On You'.  I'm not sure how much money was raised but it must have been a fair whack, because the place was packed.

01.01.05 - Happy new year!
Well, it's Two thousand and five now.  Two thousand and four was a bit shit, wasn't it?  No?  Well, it was a strange year for us anyway.  Being as it's traditional, we have made some New Years Resolutions:

+ To play (almost) all new songs in 2005
+ To write even MORE new songs
+ To get some decent support slots in Dundee
+ To play more gigs in Aberdeen and Glasgow
+ To ROCK THE FUCK ON.

31.12.04 - Drop the bomb, we've gone dot-com!
That's right, got ourselves a brand spanking new web address for 2005.  http://www.amyhits.com.
Update your bookmarks accordingly, thankyoupleash.

17.12.04 - "Another talent lurking in the Dundee shadows"
Found a review of the band from a gig we did at the Balcony in October, it's pretty good, but I don't think we sound anything like Fony.  (Remember them?!)  Check it out
HERE

06.12.04 - First site update in twelve years?
Seems like it.  Anyway, welcome to the brand new Amy Hits website.  Hope you like it.  I've deleted all the old news, because it wasn't really news anymore.  Anyway, relax and enjoy version 12 or something of the site!  Also, I stole the design from my favourite website,
www.eelstheband.com. Is it that obvious?!
