And so comes the end of yet another one of my club's organizing committees. Today, the Omega Joint Installation committee had its post mortem meeting. Views and comments were finally passed on, in hope that the organizers for next year's function can and will improve on it. Let's just hope this year's lessons don't go down the drain.

(230803 - Saturday)
Finally, after so long, a days rest... kind of.

Battle of the Bands at Taylor's wasn't quite what I expected. Times have changed. Two years ago when I was involved in the organization of the event, there were so many strings attached; so many boundaries we could not go beyond. Today, well, times have changed... period.

(220803 - Friday)
After 3 days of slacking from office work, I went back in for the expected foot-high pile of paperwork to go through. Alas, that is what happens when work is perpetual, but you're not consistant.

Sat there the entire day anticipating the night's events. Dinner was decently good, and cheap too. The Bernard's session which followed was pretty alright too, except for the part where my hair was treated to tiramitsu. I really hate it when that happens. Especially so when the cake wasn't even meant for me in the first place. Twice in a month. No good, no good!

(210803 - Thursday)
Whoopie - After 3 hours sleep, I woke up and rushed to college to continue another hour plus worth of revision followed by the 3-hour exam which seemed more like a six-hour long exam in terms of thought invoking questions. It wasn't enough time when I discovered that I screwed up the entire first question, and had to redo it from scratch. I just hope this is the last I have to see of such topics and questions.

How many Malaysians have driven a convertible here in Malaysia? Bet none of you readers can say that you have. Well, I did today! A 20-year old Alpha Romeo Spider. The car is about as old as me, but it runs as smoothly as I do. The power is awesome. It's a stick-shift (manual transmission), just the way I like it. It's small, it's red, and it's hot! What a classic. What more with the top down?! I have the coolest dude as a friend and associate. Do you? Only pity is that once I got off the highway, I got stuck in a jam. That's what sucks about Malaysian road during rush hour.

By the way, for those of you who haven't been to Putrajaya, do pay a visit. While sight-seeing, take a pit stop at the finest boutique hotel I've come across - Shangrila Putrajaya. Spectacular!

(200803 - Wednesday)
As usual, last minute studying. Look at the time - 4.20am (Thursday) already. Paper starts at 10am. And I'm still awake! Still so much to do. But so sleepy. No one to keep me company at this unearthly hour. Even the nocturnal have retired. I never learn my lesson. I should have someone knock some sense into me.

(170803 - Sunday)
And so it begins once again. All sorts of nonsense about the Leo Forum gets pushed into my lap. The issue has to be reopened for discussion. At least now the enthusiasm is coming from someone other than myself. Thank goodness for that.

Bachelor parties - whose idea was that? Concoctions of bittergod, cili padi and parsley - whose god forsaken idea was that? Ewww....

(160803 - Saturday)
Walk into a hall 20 minutes late and have the guest of honour speak about tardiness. Now that's embarassing.

My third trip in search of the 25 Hours Time boutique was more successful. This time, it was at KLCC. I finally got my two brand new time pieces' straps adjusted to fit my wrist. Finally!

(150803 - Friday)
Guess who's back?!

Recently aired over the radio - "Why is your asking pay so high when you have no experience whatsoever?" "Cos the job is a lot tougher when you don't know what you're doing!"

(140803 - Thursday)
Whose bloody idea was it to have an open air cinema? How absurd! Setting up a gigantic screen in the middle of an equestrian club field for scores of people to sit around on the grass to watch a movie, under the rain!

Never again! Never again will I go unprepared.

(130803 - Wednesday)
We have become way too dependent on technology. Everybody is bragging about their hi-tech offices and paperless systems. Sure it's something to boast about. But what happens when a malicious virus hits? What happens when only 2 out of 50 terminals within your office can be used? What happens when the only reason these 2 terminals weren't affected was because it isn't connected to the network? You can't do shit without a network connection!

I'll tell you what happens - tea breaks become longer; the toilets and pantry get crowded; the working hours get shorter. Everybody is just free to lepak, except for the IT people. The IT people are the only ones busy. They will be running back and forth from their desks to the server rooms; going on and off the phone seeking support from the outside on how to fix the glitch; they go around threatening to find out whose terminal allowed the virus into the network.

(100803 - Sunday)
Slept through most of the morning. Woke up in time to pack and check out. Had lunch, then departed from Penang. Makan stop in Ipoh and arrived home at 8.30pm.

Over the weekend while I was away, two major changes to the house took place. Firstly, the place smelled of durians the moment I walked through the gate. Sure enough, there was a pile of durians sitting on the floor right as I walked through the front door.

The second thing to note was the brand new 29" Sony Trinitron flat screen TV. Pity I don't get many chances to make use of it.

(090803 - Saturday)
Ever heard the midnight orchestra play in room 2707 of Northam Hotel in Penang? Playing two nights only. 8th and 9th August 2003. Tickets available free of charge, with compliments from the producers - members of the Leo Club of Kuala Lumpur Unity.

I don't sleep too well with people snoring beside me so I opted for the couch outside the room. Small thing, very small in fact. There's barely enough space for one on the couch, but we managed to squeeze two onto it. Not too comfortable, but at least I had someone to cuddle to sleep.

The afternoon was free & easy. I took the opportunity to meet up with my all-time favourite Penang gal - Shona Loo. She was sweet enough to pick me up from the hotel after her last exam. I bought her a late lunch and we walked a bit. So good to see her. She gets 'hotter' every time I see her. Pheew!

Presidency is really beginning to suck. Especially when they place you at the VIP table where you have to sit still and behave. Not only does that take the fun out of being on vacation with your friends, to top it off, I find out I'm to give a speech at the very last minute. Not to forget blowing out candles which light themselves up again, and also being fed to the cake, instead of having cake fed to me. Oh crap - think I left my stained tie in Ken Wah's car. Sigh...

(080803 - Friday)
Off to Penang. Woke up at 6.20am even though the alarm was set to ring at 5.45am. Needed to give myself extra time to pack my clothes but that didn't work out too well. Ended up dumping everything into my bag and was out of the house by 6.35am. Luckily I didn't forget anything important.

What was initially supposed to be a 3.5 hour journey took us a good 6 hours to accomplish. Too many pit stops and makan stops if you ask me.

Northam Hotel is absolutely spectacular. A seaview room is best. But if you want to save on rates, don't fret. The swimming pool on the 9th floor has just as great a view. Small no doubt, but the 5ft deep pool is at the very edge of the building, and it's water flows over the edge down into a small drain. Beyond that drain is nothing, completely nothing. Look straight beyond the rail along that side of the pool, you will see the sea meet the sky. Gorgeous! Simply gorgeous!

(070803 - Thursday)
Here's an interesting observation at my work place. Ever noticed how when a subordinate enters his/her manager's office to discuss something, they get to sit down with the manager; but when the manager goes to see the subordinate, he/she has to stand because there is no extra chair at the subordinate's desk. I would expect that if you're ranked above someone else, you'd get to sit, and the other would have to stand. Hmm...

I spent a good one hour packing for tomorrow's trip to Penang. And I haven't even started on my clothes yet. Too tired now, will do that in the morning.

(060803 - Wednesday)
Just over a month into Presidency and already I have lost sight of my role(s). My advice has become redundant. My words are never right and have no value in the eyes of some. My position is shadowed by the presence of others. I have once again become a follower. I have lost my ability to lead. Have I become a puppet with someone else pulling all the strings? I need advice from an independent party. Please help!

I miss the people I shouldn't miss, and don't miss the people I should miss. What is wrong with me?!

If you're reading this, a big thank you to you. Even though I fail to update this page as often as I once did, the counter on this page seems to be ticking still. That shows that I have friends who still care about how I am. Either that, or you're just really bored. Either way, thank you for visiting. If you haven't spoken to me over the past couple of days, give me a call just to say hi. It would mean the world to me. Heck, even if you have spoken to me recently, call me anyway. I'm sure to be happy to hear from you. Hmm... if we don't know each other, you can still call me all the same - +6012 377 1148. Preferably after 7.00pm Malaysian time. =)

Yay! Finally got myself a PDA, an HP iPAQ h1930, now officially known as Milton. It was a huge RM1158 just for the set plus a Kingston 128MB MMC, but I somehow don't feel the pinch. Now I have no excuse to say I forgot appointments, etc. Milton, my new toy - how exciting!
