GOMI 2007 is now behind us. After a 1 year semi-hiatus, (Andy kept GOMI on life-support in 2006), GOMI was back in 2007 thanks to the new found time of the now pseudo-retired Bill, who organized this trip back to Holiday Lodge for 9 golfers Aug 25-26. Thanks Bill!

2008 Update:
Bill reserved the A frames next year, Aug 23-24. Tee times are just a tad later, at 2:30, due to a big tournament.
GOMI Wear No plans; but several people expressed interest in another ensemble like the tan shirt and blue shorts. Ideas will be researched in 2008 and communicated to the group. GOMI Wear is not required so don't feel obligated. You are expected to order IF and ONLY IF you want something. If you don't order at the time, you won't get anything.
The BUZZ... Those that attended all said they had a good time - so that fulfilled the mission, or the purpose of the outing. From having the same waitress at the Woodbine, to the drawing of the cards for teams, it was a fun and memorable (unforgettable?) weekend. It hindsight, it felt like a GOMI of old. Changes included the demise of the gift exchange, and the inroduction of kids under 18. Both seemed to be good changes from the feedback so far. The rest was pretty much the same. Optional Friday golf...Woodbine for pizza...Saturday morning golf for those that did all day golf...Saturday event (a good team game planned by Bill)...Saturday cook out (burgers)...Sunday breakfast (courtesy of Barb) followed by golf (Antler Game).
Overall Theme and Focus - Let's keep what is important out in the forefront. We gather with family members to golf and have fun. Everything else needs to be left in the dust. |
