Tom's Forgotten Falcon Page

The 1970½ Ford Falcon

In the fall of 1969 Ford Motor Company had what I think was one of their better ideas, they phased out the Falcon to produce the Maverick. Later on in the year they realized that they needed something to help sell the Torino, thus, the 1970½ Falcon was born. Bigger, Better, More power, that was the buy words in those days, and the 70½ Falcon filled the bill.

More power? you bet, you could go with any engine from a peppy little 250 cid 6 cyl, to the monster 429 Cobra Jet with ram air. I purchased this Falcon in Beaver Dam Ky. It's a 250-6 with C-4. Options? well, AM radio and a heater, it's a real stripper vinyl and plastic galore! On a recent trip to Wisconsin it averaged 23 mpg, not bad for a car this size running 75-80 the whole way.

My 64 Ford Falcon Deluxe,
250-6 with C-4 lots of work
but worth it.
