Where does it say that the Bible is always true? I mean, can't scribes miss some things?

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."    -2 Timothy 3:16-17

So how can you be sure that verse applies to everything? Maybe it is obsolete!

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been been made. () In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it."    -John 1:1-5

So the Word was with God and was God. What does that mean?

1 Cor 14:26 How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. 27If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. 28But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God. 29Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. 30But if anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent. 31For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. 32And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, **as in all the churches of the saints. 34Let your[4] women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, **as the law also says.** 35And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church. 36Or did the word of God come originally from you? Or was it you only that it reached? **37**If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord. 38But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant. [5] 39Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues. 40Let all things be done decently and in order.

it must be noted that there is no Greek word for "husband." "Husband" (in 1Co 14:35) translates andras, and fundamentally just means "man." Here it most probably does refer to a woman’s husband. However, it could also refer to whatever man was in her life (brother, father, husband, uncle, or an elder). Either way, married or not, a woman is to remain silent in 1Co 14 gatherings. Women in general are not called upon to submit to men in general. (Indeed, no man in the church has authority over any over man or woman). Instead, women are asked to be submissive to their own husbands. On the other hand, women are not to take on leadership roles reserved for men in general: teaching the church, serving as elder, judging prophecy, contending with a teacher, etc. Here, in 1Co 14, the right to address the plenary assembly of the church seems to be categorized as an activity that is associated with leadership, the opposite of submission.

Before attempting to explain what this passage means, we first need to make some general, preliminary observations about the text. First, whatever Paul meant, he intended it for “all” congregations “everywhere.” Some have attempted to side-step the entire passage by relegating its application to a uniquely Corinthian problem. Since it was written only to that particular church, they argue, we need not concern ourselves with applying it to today’s church. The error of this type of reasoning is evident from the words of Paul himself. In 1 Co 1:1-3 Paul makes it clear that this letter is to “all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” The plot is further thickened by the reference in 14:33b to “all the congregations of the saints” and by the word “churches” (plural) in 14:34. Paul is appealing to the universal practice of the church as a whole.

Further, notice the seeming absoluteness of 1 Co 14:33b-35. As has already been shown, the Greek behind “silent” (sigao) genuinely means “mute.” This is in contrast to another word Paul could have used (hesuchia) which usually means “silent” in the sense of tranquil, calm, or settled down, but not necessarily mute (see 2 Th 3:12; 1 Tm 2:2, 11-12).

That women were "silent" in all first century church meetings everywhere (and not just Corinth) is evident from the way the paragraph begins, "As in all the churches of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches" (14:33b). Further, the Greek tense behind "should remain silent" is a present imperative, which generally commands the continuation of an existing condition ("keep on remaining silent")*. Thus we see that the women in both Corinth, and all the other churches, were already silent. This was not a new command; they were merely being confirmed in what they were already doing. The New Covenant brought new freedom and liberty not found in the Old Covenant. For instance, rather than just male Levite priests, now all believers, men and women, are priests. Rather than just Hebrews being God’s people, under the New Covenant all believers, Jew and Gentile alike, are God’s people. Rather than special dietary restrictions, now all food is clean. The Corinthians had written Paul many questions (7:1) about our new liberties in Christ. It appears as if some in Corinth had also questioned the proper role of the sisters in a church meeting. This letter to the Corinthians is his response to their queries.

1 Corinthians 11:2 Now I praise you, brethren, that you remember me in all things and keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you. 3But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

Genesis 3:16To the woman He said: "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you."

On Proverbs 8:1-so on... First, the metaphorical woman preacher in Proverbs was not preaching in a church meeting! She was calling out in the streets. Women may freely exercise their prophetic and evangelistic gifts in ministry to the lost. Second, no one (man or woman) ever preached in a NT church meeting anyhow. NT preaching is exclusively associated with evangelism and occurred apart from assemblies of believers.

Prophecy- Joel 2

10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

The word divinely chosen for "silent" is sigao, defined in BAGD’s Lexicon as "be silent, keep still, say nothing." There exists a much less harsh term, hesuchia, which primarily means "quiet" in the sense of tranquil (1T 2:11-12). Significantly, however, hesuchia is not used here. The women were to be silent (sigao) with respect to speaking during the 1Co 14 meeting.

Asking a question is the opposite of making a statement, yet even this is declared to be out of order in 14:35. Instead, women should "ask their own husbands at home." Why? Because "it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church" (14:35). If Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, declares a certain activity to be "disgraceful", then it is as if Christ Himself were declaring it to be disgraceful. Ultimately, how do we know what pleases our Lord unless He tells us? In God’s household, it evidently is disgraceful for a woman to speak to the gathering of the church.

Titus 2:1 But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: 2that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things-- 4that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be **blasphemed. 6Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 7in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,[1] 8sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.[2]
