MAN, who we really are and why we need salvation.
Why has man always been so much in control over everything on earth? It's safe to say that the Planet of the Apes will ever occur and little green men will not be ruling us any time soon. Could this be chance? What was God's plan and purpose?
Where did man come from?
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."
   -Genesis 2:7
Ah, God created man. But what was man supposed to be like, according to God?
"And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." ANd the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
And Adam said:

   "This is now the bone of my bones
    And flesh of my flesh;
    She shall be called Woman,
    Because she was taken out of Man."

Therefore a man shall leaves his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed."
   -Genesis 2:18-25
"God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kings, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kings. And God saw that it was good."
   -Genesis 1:25
"Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
God saw all that he had made, and it was
very good. And there was evening and there was morning --the sixth day."
   -Genesis 1:26-28,31

God's creation was not very good until its final piece, man, was created. Man was to rule over every living creature that moves on the ground, as well as the birds of the air and the fish of the sea. Man was created in God's image. Who is God, should we be images of him?

"For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD,
     And he ponders
all his paths."
   -Proverbs 5:21
"Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the LORD Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other."
   -Deuteronomy 4:39
"So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."
When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, "Who then can be saved?"
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

What happened to man, so that we see man in their present condition?
"And he (Satan) said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, "You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"
And the woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, "You shall not eat it, not shall you youch it, lest you die."

Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves and  made themselves coverings.
And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the gadden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?"
So he said, "I heard Your voice in the gaden, and I was afraid because I was naked and hid myself." .......
To the woman He said:
    "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
     In pain you shall bring forth children;
     Your desire shall be for your husband,
     And he shall rule over you."
Then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, "You shall not eate of it':
    "Cursed is the ground for your sake;
    In toil you shall eat of it
    All the days of your life.
    Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you,
    And you shall eat the herb of the field
    In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread
    Till you return to the ground
    For out of it you were taken;
    For dust you are,
    And to dust you shall return."
   -Genesis 3

"Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned."
   -Romans 5:12
