On Sunday, Febuary 18th the world lost the BEST NASCAR driver ever to drive left. On the last lap of the Daytona 500 while protecting the lead of DEI drivers Michael Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt Junior the Senior Earnhardt lost control of his famous number 3 Chevy Monte Carlo and struck the turn 4 wall. This encounter with the wall would be his last brush with the wall, his last memory of Daytona would be seeing that his two cars were running one and two leaving the final turn headed for the famous Daytona Checkered Flag.
Earnhardt never had the chance to congradulate Waltrip on winning his first race, or more importantly winning the biggest race in NASCAR. What an accomplish ment, what a dissapointment. It was a day the NASCAR community will never forget.
Teresa, Ralph Dale Jr, Kerry Dale, Kelly King, and Taylor Nicole you are in my thoughts and prayers. DEI, Richard Childress Racing, and everyone else involved with NASCAR both on and off of the track you are in my prayers as well.
This is a rough time for alot of people, but just think about what Dale would want everyone to do, Keep on Racing. Just imagine what he is doing right now, I am sure he is battling it out to the checkered flag with his his dad and other drivers that have passed on before him. Just keep on racing for your dreams. I am sure that is all the Intimidator would have wanted.
