Gaining From Losing

A-ing finished her Grade 1 class with an "O" average grade and qualified her to receive an honor certificate this July 22 at Miriam College Grade School.

Miriam College, as a practice, does not rank their grade school students by the end of the academic year but prefers to cite all who get the average grade of "O" or higher.

A-ing had some difficulty with her Math during her second grading period but was able to recover by the third and was able to improve her grade further by the end of the year.

She has always been a source of gratitude to the Lord for us her parents and of course joy and pride for her many lovable qualities that include caricaturing her Mama and me when she launches into her long hours of drawing sessions at home.

Jane thought that she was faced with another disaster when she left her job at Miriam College. She was very much comfortable working there and the school had been rating very highly to her assessment as an institution where one can grow old, just like the many old-timers there

But the ways of the Lord are far more mysterious and far better that many of us ever expect it to be. When she finally decided to leave the school, she was faced with the prospect of raising her aim higher despite the apprehensions and the uncertainty. With a giant faith and the support of prayers of the church and friendly pastors like Pastor Fameronag and Pastor Bugaay, even our interim pastor Pastor Stepp, Jane went marching and invaded the gates of Ateneo and UA&P, the elite of the elite of the universities in Manila.

Jane expected at least one of the universities to hire her. She didn't expect they both would. Now she enjoys the prestige and the financial benefit of belonging to these institutions.

By the end of the day, the Lord reaped all our praises and thanksgiving, proving once more that "all things work together for good to them who know God and are the called according to his purpose" (Rom 8:28)

A-ing In The Honor Roll

Gerry was ordained as Deacon by Heritage Landmark Baptist Church last February, together with two other church leaders in our new church, New Berea Baptist Mission.

The mission work is being blessed by the Lord in ways we never expect but are glad to witness and to be part of.
