Kathryn, Alanah and I watched the UP Cinema Arts Society's (UP CAST) annual showcase of their members' best thesis and experimental films last Friday, March 10, 2006

I was invited by my dear friend AD to attend the event, which featured some of the organization alumni's award-winning theses and film productions. I must say, independent films have a way of grasping at my emotions and making me think beyond my usual mundane thoughts.

The films tackled social realities and the yearning of the human spiit to break free from its societal, emotional and physical constraints. Perhaps that's why the title was "Illuminations", it shed light not only on how society sees films, but on how cool film people are. I was awed.

On a lighter note, dear Alanah herself was illuminated by awakening into reality, hehehe. (Private joke). Here are some pics...
