GOALS
* To research, record and preserve the physical, social, folkoric, agricultural
and industrial history of North Dundas.
* To maintain and promote the Heritage Centre located within the Old Town Hall, Chesterville.
* To accept donations of original artifacts and documents that are relevant to the
area.
* To develop and promote educational programs that explore local history.
MEMBERSHIP
The Chesterville and District Historical Society is registered as a Non Profit corporation
and membership fees and donations are tax deductible.
Individual $10.00 annual
Corporate $25.00 annual
THE SOCIETY
We are a group of area residents who are interested in helping to preserve and interpret
local history. The Chesterville and District Historical Society was founded in 1984
with the help of the Rotary Club. We are affiliated with the Ontario Historical Society and have received funding from Provincial grants.
MEETINGS
Meetings are generally held on the fourth Monday of every month at 8:00 p.m. in the
Heritage Centre. Membership entities the member to attend meetings and special presentations
by guest speakers . The Heritage Centre is open to the public in July and August, staffed by a summer student.
