Illiana Garden
and
Pond Society

A Flash 5.0 site.  At 1000kbs this is a hefty site with a lot of features that make it well worth the few minutes wait to load the site.

One of the challenges of a web designer is taking someone else's work and updating it.   This class project is an example of that effort.      For reference, the original site is located at:   www.illianagardenpond.org/

This work was created as an example only and is not published to the web.

Recently completed, I created this company introduction web entirely on Notepad with animated gif's created in PhotoShop6.0.   I wrote the text based on Whiting Corporation business plan for W-Crane.

This site will be published by Whiting Corporation in the next few weeks.

Until the site is published, this beta version will remain online.   The site features a sound introduction as well as animated gifs showing key W-Crane features.

Images provided by Whiting Corporation were edited to web specifications and used to create animated gifs in PhotoShop6.0.   Sound introduction will be deleted from the published version.

Gatorboys 2002

Although the site is only 2 pages long, it's structured with three frames and packed with 5 animated gifs to control the pictures.

Gatorboys 2002 is a website that I provide for my Phi Kappa Theta brothers every year. The site features pictures that were taken during our annual get-together.

It all started a long time ago when a group of brothers went to Florida State on a road trip...sort of like something out of Animal House...but that's another story.  The thing is there is always a 'gator theme involved.  This year's theme came from one of the hats a brother wore.   It had a hatching aligator patch on it.  That patch was scanned in and became the animated gif on the home page.

With five animated gif's operating at the same time, it takes time to download the files, but the time is worth it.

Gatorboys 2001

A long, long, long, lonnnng, time ago there existed at Purdue University, Calumet a band of brothers who belonged to the Gamma Omega chapter of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity.  We had many, mannnnnnny, adventures and long nights of philosophy with our sponsor Prof. Charles Hutton.   The memories and his spirit live on and forever inspire us.  One such adventure was a trip to Florida State where a bond was forever forged as "the Gatorboys".

Each of the last several years the brothers gather to remember the old times and plan new ones This site gathers the pictures taken at our reunion.

Rosemary's Page

When my mother passed away in 2000, I gathered all the memories and pictures I could find.   All were organized, sorted and spread out in a pictoral memory to help us remember her as she was.

This is a private multimedia site captured on a CD. I won't share the site with those who didn't know her, but I've put up the home page here so you can see what is possible.

This site has already been incorporated into my Folks on Spokes website. Entering this website will link you to the regular Folks on Spokes website.   Enjoy both.

Guinea Pig Home Page

This site is several years old and scheduled for re-design.

The site was originally designed for my wife's 1st grade class, this eight page web, designed in Frontpage2000, helps 1st grade students discover the world of guinea pigs. Featuring Snoopy and Taffy, everyday residents who don't have to take the ISTEP exams, parents can take their children on a scavenger hunt, explore guinea pig links, discover great books on guinea pigs and enjoy other activities.

The Magic Touch

Back in the predawn age before I learned Photoshop, even before the dust had settled from the making of the earth, I created Magic Touch for one of my very dear friends Judy.  Judy, a massage therapist needed a website to promote her business. Her business is still going very strong; this website isn't.

Feel free to poke among the bones of this site, I've removed all external links so we won't disturb any dusty memories that may still linger here.

Images web with good information on saving files for the web
Go to Images Page

Images Exercise

One of our first assignments was to take a file and see how much space it took to save for the web using each of the possible file combinations. It didn't take long to figure out the right method for saving files.  From the information we learned, we made up a web page.

The information is valuable if you're just getting started making up webs. Of course, you could just double check my information....see for yourself.
