Glantraeth ran out winners in this entertaining local
derby fixture. Richard Hughes opened the scoring on
11mins following a cross from Kevin Roberts that
caused confusion in the Llangefni defence. Glantraeth
had the better of the first as Richard Hughes had a
further goal disallowed for offside just prior to this
Kevin Roberts hit a dipping shot that clipped the top
of the bar. Llangefni's only chance of the half saw
Jason Sadler break to see his shot saved by the foot
of Steve Thomas.Kevin Roberts was also out of luck
just after the restart as his edge of the area shot on
the turn rebounded off the upright. The first to
respond was Rob Williams who tucked away an easy
chance to make it 2 - 0. As the respective mid fields
battled to gain supremacy Glantraeth created several
other chances as Darren Jones, Rob Williams and Mark
Thomas went close. A Jason Sadler free kick into the
top corner gave Llangefni some hope but a long range
shot from Sion Parry was all they could muster.
