Glantraeth were dominant throughout in this local derby fixture against rivals Llanfair.P.G. As early as the second minute they could have taken the lead when in a goalmouth scramble the ball fell to Kevin Roberts who put the chance over the crossbar. A minute later a Roberts well taken free kick found Mike Parry who headed wide of the target, Parry then got on the end of an Emyr Rowlands corner but he headed over the bar.

It was then the turn of Nigel Barry on 14 Min's but his chance flew past the post as Glantraeth strove to find an opening. Emyr Rowlands tried his luck before on 28 Min's a tremendous free kick by Kevin Roberts forced keeper Ben Heald into a fine save at the foot of the post. It was another Roberts free kick that found Mark Thomas who headed in on 33 Min's to break the deadlock.

It was the 40th minute before Llanfair created their first chance of the match as Ian Burgess hit a shot that was well saved by Glantraeth keeper Steve Thomas. With the half almost over Craig Roberts then hit an effort that hit the outside of the stanchion.

At the start of the second period David Evans swung in a corner that clipped the top of the crossbar as Glantraeth momentarily went to sleep. Craig Roberts pulled a good effort wide of the post on 60 Min's. Then on 75 Min's Kevin Roberts won the ball in midfield, split the defence with a pass to Craig Roberts who's angled run a shot clipped the post before finishing in the back of the net to make it 2-0 to the visitors. Aled Griffiths then put a good chance over the crossbar.

On 85 Min's a good move involving Craig Roberts and Kevin Roberts led to Mark Thomas hitting a well-driven shot that Heald did well to parry away for a corner. In the final minute a ball from Rob Williams found Kevin Roberts tho headed wide of the target. Final score 2-0 to Glantraeth.
