A Delightful Harboufront Inn ... in the heart of Kalymnos town The newly renovated  hotel is located near the marina on Kalymnos port (Pothia) and it offers breathtaking views over the colourful harbour and the sea beyond. A short stroll leads you to tavernas, restaurants, and cafes. Beaches with clear turquoise waters are within walking distance.  It is  near the  commercial center of the island, and near the main bus stop, that makes it convenient to visit other areas of Kalymnos. It is also near the pier, that makes it easy to take day excursions with tour boats to smaller secluded islands and beaches.

History of  APXONTIKO (ar-ho-de-ko) .. This mansion was built  in the late 19th century by a prominent local sponge merchant.  Kalymnos was then occupied by the Turks and the building served for a while as the residence of the governor.  In 1909 the Turks left the island and our great grandfather purchased the building. The family operated a  bakery from here for many years. Recently,  we completed extensive renovations, with permission of the Greek Ministry of Culture,  over a four year period and began operating as a hotel in 1994.  We have made every effort to preserve the charm of this Kalymnos treasure. We restored the exterior to its original design, and we preserved its rock arches inside and the original wood-fired oven (Room No 21). Our reception lounge and guest rooms embrace the best of  both worlds. They are decorated in a blend of antique furniture from the original building and compatible furnishings. Welcome to APXONTIKO Our hotel has ten standard rooms, each with one double or two single beds and private bathroom with shower, and one room with 5 beds   Four rooms have balconies that overlook the colourful Kalymnos harbour. We are open year around.
