Greg Kail    aka   "KC2DWF"
This is my general page. My hobbies and interest are :

Amature radio - I belong to the CRA and KCRA repeater groups.
If you are in the New York City area
N2LEN had an internet gateway on his 70cm machine.
442.575 + 5 Meg.  PL 114.8  ( NOT CURRENTLY
WORKING )   ---- Stay tuned
He simulcast on
Eqso , ECHOLINK and WiresII
....Work the World with your HT.
Several nice nets with check-ins from around the Globe.

Astronomy - The nicest amateur facility in NJ ,to my knowledge is NJAA
We humans live on the 3rd rock from our local star, the
Sun.
    Our
Solar system is on the outskirts of a Galaxy we call the Milky Way.
Our Galaxy is one of about 25 known as
"the Local Group". One of the outher Galaxies in our local group, the Andromeda Galaxy is on a collision course with the Milky Way and will de/reform both Galaxies when it occurs.
Our Local group  is one of billions of
clusters and supreclusters of Galaxies that make up the observable Universe. Hubble Deep Field Project
gives an idea of this.

    The
Moon is the only celestial body man has physicaly walked on.

Sailing - In the past I crewed on the Schooner Adirondack . She sails from Pier 62 (near 23rd st and the Hudson River) in New York City. Modeled after a "Pilot boat" she is fast and a lot of fun.

Satellites - I started in amature radio largely because of the Fleet of Satellites the amature community has in orbit. If you want to play with Satellites and you are not a government this is the way to go.
- I use both "
STSPLUS" and "Nova" for satellite tracking. They each have attributes. (I like it when Nova  "Tells me " a bird is rising or setting ..... Ok I like it when my computer talks to me :-)

You can watch many satellites as they pass over head. Go to
Heavens-Above. there you can produce listings for ISS,  Iridium, and other birds. Which works out great if you are "in the field".

Under Sea Habitats - Inner Space is an interesting place to live also....The  Marine Resources Development Foundation in Key Largo Florida has several undersea habitats. Two friends and I took part in a study on blood gases in one of thier habitats for a couple of days. Every thing is delivered from topside in pressure cookers to keep things dry.(including pizza)..... Living undersea is a "gas"....... ;-)

The worlds first undersea hotel
Jules' Undersea Lodge is run by a sister orginazation.

One Day I want to work, (call using Ham radio) the ISS or the Shuttle from an undersea habitat...You have to have goals in life.....
;-)

Skydiving -  As far as I'm concerned Skydiving is the Best Adrenalin Rush you can legally get..... some time in the future I will complete my AFF.But for right now life has other priorities..... :-(

I did my first dives in Fla. at
Deland a great DZ and  Titusville a DZ- which overlooks the Cape.
The VAB at Kennedy looks like a little sugar cube from 12,400 ft.
Another nice DZ is
Blue sky ranch in Gardner, NY.
