the rebuilding must begin.  We hoped for an easy time of routinely rebuilding the engine.  However this was not to be entirely true.  We will show you the truth of this statement later on.
         After brushing off the block it was determined that the valves were in very good condition.   Therefore we elected to leave them as they were.  DALE C then tried, with limited success, to blow out all of the solvent I used trying to loosen up the engine.  He miked bearings and cylinders and they were found to meet orginal specifications.  The slight suggession of ridges on the cylinder was within the ability of the hone to remove.  It was indicated that standard size rings and rod bearings were the proper thing to order.
          Then it became my duty to purchase the required parts.  In addition to rings and bearings, I ordered a gasket set, new timing gears, new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing from STUDEBAKER INTERNATIONAL.  They immeditely shipped and we had the parts in four days. In addition to the above I pick up locally grade 8 bolts and nuts and washers for replacement of all the 56 years old stuff we removed.  While we waited for the parts to come we redid the parts we removed.
