Inter have laughed off suggestions that they could be lining up a 20,000,000 bid for Wigan Athletic and England ace David Bentley. Bentley has failed to make the impact he would have liked to make, following a 15,000,000 move from Blackburn Rovers. However, manager Paul Jewell is not keen on selling the England international who he sees as a potential star of the future. The Latics have always denied the rumours coming out of Italy, Dave Whelan, the Wigan chairman, even told Sky Sports News that the stories linking Bentley with a move to the San Siro were a load of "rubbish". The official word out of Inter claims that David Bentley was never a target for the club and no enquiry was made for the ex-Arsenal star. |
