Pinky's Page

Greetings! Either you've stumbled to my creation purely by chance or I've sent you an invitation. Mind you, this page is merely some goofing around on my part. Thanks for stopping by!

Under the magnifying glass...

Welcome to my humble home! No, I am not some nifty computer programmer (cheers to all you CS folk out there!). Rather, I am a second year medical student having fun with this procrastination outlet ;) I graduated in 2001 from the University of Richmond with a B.S. in biology and a minor in Latin. For those of you with some Latin backgrounds, "tempus fugit." Delving deep into my college years for all you newcomers, I spent the first year and a half in California at U.C. Berkeley before transferring to the East Coast. Yes, it's true...I attended both a large, liberal university and a small, conservative school. I definitely have no regrets for my decision and am grateful for having had the opportunity to experience such diverse environments. And hey, if I hadn't come to Richmond, I would never have met my wonderful friends!

What are my hobbies or passions in life? Well, I've always enjoyed crafty projects. My three godmothers (yes, THREE) taught me to crochet, needlepoint, and knit. Unfortunately I have not had much time to work on those crafts. I do spend what little free time I have cooking and baking - therapies which keep me sane in the hectic life of a med student. I use strategy when selecting a recipe...I find the most intricate recipes to take up the time so that I can maximize my procrastination! This past summer I spent several weeks doing "mother-daughter" bonding by pickling cucumbers and making all sorts of jams and jellies. Nothing beats homemade goods =)

I hope to pick up Contra dancing again one of these days. I began attending the Richmond contra dance gatherings with a bunch of college friends during my senior year and had a wonderful time. It's definitely a good workout, and one should NEVER go without a large water bottle! I also would love to learn swing dancing and ballroom dancing, but I'll have to wait until my course load lightens =(

And, as you've probably guessed, I really love Disney. I used to dream of becoming an animator for the Mouse, and who knows? Maybe I still will one day! (The sky's the limit, right?) There's nothing more gratifying than drawing a figure that "comes to life." I also enjoy my trips to the Disney parks where I can escape from reality and be a kid like everyone else. =) Ah...dreaming of my next trip down there...possibly after my upcoming Board Step 1 exams...woohoo!!!
