Kentucky Rifles Forming

Ruppert T. Bollweevil

Lexington Ky, As day truned into dusk, many of the folk in Lexington headed towards meeting halls set up around Lexington to serve the purpose of recruiting a militia to be known as the Kentucky Rifles. Plans are set to take the recruiting drive to all corners of Kentucky as the citizens react to the war drums beating around us...... Reid Vaughn, the States Rights Party candidate for governor sent a call to all Kentuckians to prepare now to secure our future. Mr Vaughn promised a statement to be announced after the election results are known, and Mr Vaughn was accompanied by the honroable Jeromie Cook as he proceeded through Lexington.
Down by the river sits an old young man smoking his cigar. He looks up as the reporters are coming down the path. They ask him how about Dave Whipple
running for President of our nation? He looks out across the river then
back to the reporters and said "He is a good man for the hard times that
seem to be coming our way now". He talks with his New Jersey accent yet
even though he has been here for many a year. I think if there is anyone
that can lead us at this time I think he can do it. The Northern people
just don't want to leave us alone they keep sending new rules that make no
sense to us down here, want to change how we live that makes no sense at all
to me.
You know boys they sent me a message the other day they want me to run for
Governor of our great state of Georgia. I have given a lot of thought to
this. We need someone to remind those boys of our founder's fathers ideas
again, so I think I will run again. The reporter asked, Sir are you going
to run for Governor of Georgia? He looks at the reporter with a little
gleam in his eyes and answered, Yes, sir I am.
Then he looks away again, you know this will be very hard times for all of
us. This will bring on a lot of tears to all of us until this problem is
resolved. I am sure that there will be some empty chairs at the table
before long on both sides.
