Hey Look! It's a Blog!

(Or, a month in the life of...)

I started creating my first blog as my "back-to-school" project for 2002. This is where you can keep up with the latest chapter of the story that is my life. I can't promise that it'll be exciting, but I'll try to keep it current. If I get behind, then send me an email!

Blogs for the Year 2005

JANUARY 2005.
To start off with, my New Year's Resolution this year was to focus on my health. I've been slacking off lately in this area, so I decided to get back on the wagon. So I joined Curves, with a friend of mine from work. Love it! It's a circuit, like the one I used to do when I was in school, only this one's tailored for women. Even better!

I also decided this month to join the choir at our church. I love singing, and I'd been in school choirs all my life. It's something that I've been missing, so I'm glad I finally found a choir that I can sing with. And they're a great bunch of people, which is a bonus. :)

This month was my sisters' birthdays, so we celebrated by having a weekend sleep-over, followed by lunch at the Mongolian Grill (one of my fave restaurants). Of course, that was also the one day this month that it snowed. Hard. It took us at least three times longer to get there, and once we weren't sure if we were going to make it through an intersection (at all). There was one stretch of road with several cars and a sixteen-wheeler stuck on it, and this is one of the more well-used and well-maintained streets. But we had a good visit. Good conversation, karaoke, UNO, Pit, Bailey's, and a toasty fireplace. What more could a girl want? :)

Movie of the month... Lord of the Rings. The trilogy. This was our Christmas give to each other, so Mike and I spent a week or two watching all three movies back-to-back-to-back. It takes longer when you're watching them in the evenings, especially since the third one is soooooooo long! :)
I also watched "In Good Company" (the one about the middle-aged guy with a college-aged boss who ends up dating the first guy's daughter), "50 First Dates" (which we now own), and "Dogma" (again).

TV show of the month... Lost. Awesome show! Actually, we're not able to get it ourselves, cuz we don't have cable anymore. But one of my friends was thoughtful enough to tape it for me. Thanks Lynne! :)

FEBRUARY 2005.
We did a bit of entertaining this month. Dinner at the Keg with my mom and stepdad when they came into town for the day. Tennis party one evening/night, to watch the final matches of the Australian Open.

This month my brother, sister and her husband bought their first home, and we helped them move their things. And, of course, went to visit after they moved in. I can't believe they've unpacked already - we're not even finished unpacking, and we've been here for quite a few months now.

Related to moving, we did some home shopping ("for" home, not "of" homes) and some reorganizing. New closet shelves, new bed and night-tables. Ikea and Home Depot.

Movie of the month... "Hitch" (Will Smith). Fun movie about dating.

TV show of the month... Lost. And CSI New York (I finally saw my first episode, although I've been watching Las Vegas and Miami for quite a while now). We still don't have cable, but my mom loaned us her old antenna, which works quite well actually. I miss my CP24 in the morning, but we can get pretty much everything that we usually watch, so I'm pleased.
