GFWC NEW MEXICO
One of the world's oldest, non-partisan, non-denominational women's volunteer service organizations, the General Federation of Women's Clubs was founded in 1890.  GFWC has built a long standing reputation by becoming involved in worthwhile projects, such as helping to establish over 75% of the nation's libraries, assisting in creating the National Park Service, and supporting the origination of kindergarten in our public schools.

In 2006, GFWC members volunteered 8.4 million hours, raised $32 million dollars, and took part in 230,000 projects in their hometowns and states, and around the globe.

Composed of women of all ages, interests, and experiences, GFWC New Mexico, founded in 1911, joins 100,000 women worldwide - over 4,000 clubs in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and 20 countries.

GFWC New Mexico is dedicated to enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service, improving our communities with our work inprograms and projects in public schools, veterans affairs, women's health, literacy programs, domestic violence awareness, empowering women, and many other activities.
