SBC OFFSHORE ACTIVITY
The CWA is still waiting on SBC to present us with a proposal that is progressive. We need to stay focused and united until we get a fair contract.

On a less happy note...This is unconfirmed, but, there is a story going around that a manager in Northern California has died from injuries she sustained during pole climbing school. It sounds like SBC is trying to get as many people "trained" before the strike starts, at all costs. This also sounds like people are being rushed through training, indifferent to the safety of it's own employees. If true, this is very sad. If any managers happen to read this, be careful and be safe, no job is worth life or limb. And remember:
No job is so Urgent and no Service is so Important, that we can not take our time to do the job Safely.

SBC is offering some nice perks to some of it's management ranks in these "I'm broke and can't afford to pay your health premiums" times. Looks like certain managers are getting up to $10,000 worth of SBC services and other perks AND SBC is paying the income taxes for them!!!!!!! Want more info? Read here.
