| Weather |
| Average temperature in Falmouth for the first December weekend is 45 F. The record high is 68 (1933). The record at GHHH! is 72, set in 1998. Weather at GHHH! in 2002 was another story. A blizzard hit the east coast two days before the tourney, dumping 8" of snow on Cape Cod. Thursday and Friday saw more snow and frigid temperatures. Temperatures in the 40s were forecast for Saturday and Sunday, forcing field closures and a reorganization of the entire tourney schedule. Players endured soggy snow on the fields with wet patches. Sub-freezing nighttime temps maintained some crusty snow cover and allowed us to keep more fields open. The tourney went on with by far the worst conditions we've ever had at GHHH!

| "Merry Christmas! What right have you to be merry?" |
| "If I could work my will," said Scrooge indignantly, "every idiot who goes about with 'Merry Christmas' on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart."
